That is crazy.  (I remember when)     It took 2 weeks for the file to reach NVC after you got the NOA2 .. then maybe 2 more weeks for NVC to send it to USEM.

At least now ...  once you get your MNL # you can ROCK n ROLL!!

True.  Today is day 210 and no word.  This is a 10 to12 month process now (NOA1 to POE).  In 2016 some people only had 40 days from NOA1 to POE.  I'm sure the Philippines was a little longer just due to the numbers.

Looking back, a CR-1 is a great option, cheaper and quicker.

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

I don't buy the quicker.

I can file the I-129F right now and start the 10-12 mo. process today.  Hopefully complete by December 2018

I cannot not file the I-130 until after a marriage occurs in the PI.  Which based on my  current schedule, the soonest I could do that is May before I could start the 12-14 month process. Hopefully complete by September 2019.

YMMV

IR/CR-1 isn't quicker, unless you do the DCF.

With the normal process for IR/CR-1 USCIS takes just as long to get the petition approved, then there is NVC where you complete AOS and that can take months.. once the case file arrives from USCIS.  Then, finally USEM .. and the visa application.

Then .. you can't start any of it until you are married, and have certified copies of your marriage.

Remember that with the CR-1 you will have the green card in 12 to 14 months. Right now the K-1 is 10 to 12 months for visa and another year to 18 months for green card. So 14 months for CR-1 is much quicker than the 2.5  to 3 years for K-1 through GC.

Your original post was about NOA1 to POE.  Can't change the facts mid stream.  :D

Your wife is not in the USA .. until.  Getting the green card is good, but being together is bigger.

Whereas the K-1 is in the USA, they can then get the EAD (work authorization) card while they wait for AOS to complete and receive their green card.   Life move on nicely without the green card.. once together.

First real step.   Now the long wait.

I remember that time .. receiving our WAC (yup we were west coast) ... months of checking status on USCIS day after day ... it was almost 5 months before getting the email notice.

... patience is the rule.
