How long does it take

To schedule a interview and medical for the Manila Philippines for a fiance visa after receiving your NVC number?

From the way it's looking it's taking 7 months to get petition approved by USCIS, 2 months to get to the NVC. How long after NVC does it take to schedule a medical and to schedule the interview?

Thanks

You can do the medical and DS-160 as soon as you receive the MNL#.  I'm not sure if you can schedule the interview before the Embassy shows "ready".  It should only be a few days to a week to transfer the files from NVC to the Embassy.  Do the medical as soon as you can unless the beneficiary has to travel to get to Manila.  Medical is walk in and usually takes 2 days.  I know people have done medical on Monday and Tuesday and scheduled the interview on Thursday or Friday.  Manila is a busy embassy so you have to keep trying to get on the schedule.  I have heard of people who have been able to get in there quickly because of cancellations.

I see there was a list of vaccinations that are required. Should we have my beautiful fiance get all the vaccinations and bring the shot record?

I heard the Manila wants you to have medical at least 5 days prior to the interview. Is that true?

In Manila the vaccinations are included in the cost.  That is day 2 of the medical.  That is not true for all countries but it is included in the Philippines.

It doesn't have to be 5 days.  You just need to successfully complete the medical before the interview.

Ok, so I am NOT expected to pay extra? Beyond the 325$

So once we receive the NVC number, she can fly to Manila and do the medical as a walk-in, and hopefully during that time the embassy becomes ready to schedule and she can schedule the interview immediately right after. If not then she'll have to make another trip?

Thanks

Nope, the $325 includes the shots.  It does not include any additional TB Sputum testing if the X Rays show spots.

Keep checking back with the Embassy.  Most interviews take place between 45 and 60 days after MNL#.  If you are lucky you can get in on a cancellation.

Dont forget CFO!

Thanks!! The CFO needs to be brought to the US embassy interview and not the medical right?

I learn something new!! 7 months to peition approval, 2 months for NVC/MNL and then 2 months for interview. We are at 1 year. Wow..

Nope.  The CFO is required to leave the Philippines.  You do not need to do the class prior to medical or interview BUT K-1 beneficiaries can take the GCP prior to getting a visa.  It is not a bad thing to get out of the way.

The US doesn't care about the CFO seminar, that is a requirement of the Philippines.

Yes, the timelines are getting to the point where the cheaper and easier CR-1 visa is looking like a great option for new filers.

Thanks, With Trump closing the DCDA dreamer visas last fall, I am worried they'll be an excessive amount of petitions and will further backlog everything.

The current administration is certainly not immigration friendly.  We just have to grin and bear it.  If I were filing today, I would go and get married in the Philippines and file a CR-1.  It is cheaper, easier and right now, quicker.
