How can my husband travel to U.S. faster while i130 still pending. I have a doctor's appointment for pregnancy complications because of a blood clot disorder I have so I really do wish my husband can be with me. What can I do?

Thank you gregcrs for you response. Is there a way that he can apply for a visitor visa for the meantime. I just would love to have him visit my family and go with me to Dr appointment. We live and work in Tunisia so we will come back to wait out thei130 process but want to go for a vacation trip. Any ideas would help. Thank you

Hi, i think he can apply for a visitor visa while i130 is pending but there is a chance he'd get denied. However, he may be able to bring medical proof at the interview and leave it to the IO to decide. Even though the i130 signals he intends to immigrate, he still has to prove he will return to Tunisia until it's approved.

He can apply for a tourist visa to come see you but he needs to show really strong ties to his home country. He needs to have a good sturdy job, properties, other family members, etc to show he intends to come back and not enter on a tourist visa and adjust status which is what they’re gonna think he’s gonna do. They will know he has an immigrant visa application processing so that weighs heavy for a denial. I don’t know anything about how tough us visas are in Tunisia but if it’s like any other country like it it will be tough. It will also take a while to process a tourist visa too so if you already have a date for that doctor’s appointment he might not even make it if he does get approved for a tourist visa.
