Hello guys,

I got my visa this month and im planing to move to Orlando next February, i would like to ask about general tips on how's life in Orlando Jobs, Transportation, Weather .. anything could be helpful.

Thank you.

I have family there.  It seems there is a lot of jobs but I don't know if it's the type you're looking for.  Lots of public transportation if you get a car you may have to pay parking.  Housing is expensive...and its VERY hot!  Especially in the summer.  Most people in my area only go to Florida in the winter.

You can always work at the Moroccan pavilion at EPCOT. You can find room mates on the Disney cast member facebook page. PM for more info. There are so many Moroccans in the Orlando area.

Hi, I live not to far away from Orlando.

Personally, I don't like the city. What ever you move to, stay away from Pine Hills!

My in-laws live there, so we often go to Orlando. There is a lot of traffic, roads are terrible. I don't know much about the public transportation, but from previous experience in a different state, it's horrible.

Weather, it's different compared to Morocco ( what part are you from?) , It's humid. Some people don't like it, but it all depends whether you like cold or warm weather.

Oh, there is a big Moroccan community in Orlando. They ussualy have parties etc. I have never been to one, but one of my contacts told me about the Chaabi artists they regularly have there. Only thing I haven't found yet is a decent Moroccan restaurant where you can have a delicious tagine.

Jobs, if you like working in hospitality it's the right place for you. Also lot of call centers and sales businesses.

You're moving there and you don't know that already? Don't people usually check that stuff before moving?

A simple Google search could reveal most of that information.

Hi, i will be in Winter Park not far away from you, im from the south of Morocco so the weather will not be a problem if it's warm or hot, meeting Moroccans there would be a nice thing to do in my first days, i will take any job in the beginning and hope for the best in the future, thank you very much for your time.

Ok, downtown Winter Park is actually nice.

Trust me on this, heat from South Morocco is totally different compared with Florida heat. Hopefully you will find a job soon.  But I'm sure you will do fine. Thalla.

anyone in US  can tell you about Orlando

Disney World is there

Hot and humid makes it feel hotter (like Marrachek in summer)

expensive

heavy traffic like Casa

no trouble finding jobs like hospitality and service industry

also  outside Orlando like in Lakeland there are many food distribution centers for warehouse jobs

really you will not have trouble finding work

sorry for some of the rude replies on here

if you find it too busy / too expensive/ too many tourists , the states just above it like South Carolina and Georgia are less expensive

anyway, welcome to the US

BTW most of the time you dress for warm weather but bring a good coat as when it dips to 50, it feels cold and damp as you are so close to both the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico and the wet air goes thru you
