Clarification on filing I-751 90 days before entry

My wife received her CR-1 this month and we entered POE Detroit 4/10/07. Since we have not been married 2 full years I thought we would have to file I-751 around January 10, 2009 or 90 days before the 2 year anniversary of entering the US. This is clear in the English instructions. However, in the CHinese instructions my wife received from the embassy in Taiwan it clearly states that we have to file I-751 90 days before our 2 year anniversary. Since we got married in October, 2005 this would mean we have to file I-751 in September, 2007. Has anyone else been confused by this?

You file to remove conditions 90 days before the expiry date on your greencard.... it has nothing to do with when your wedding aniversary is.... it is the aniversary of the date of issue of the Greencard/LPR status....

They left one word out Second year anniversary of the I-551 (GREEN-CARD).

If you are filing this petition jointly with your spouse, you must file it during the 90 days immediately before the second anniversary of the date you were accorded conditional resident status. This is the date your conditional residence expires.

Yes, a lot of people have.

But you've been given correct info here. Your wedding anniversary has nothing to do with figuring out the I-751 filing date. The filing window opens 90 days before the conditional GC expires, and closes on the GC expiration date.

Hi,

we have a letter from my wife's Immigrant Visa package she received from AIT in Taipei, the top half is in English, the bottom half in Chinese. The English part clearly states what has been said already here on this forum. Not sure what the Chinese part says, I'll have to ask my wife.

By the way, my wife's POE was Detroit also!

Congratulations on making it this far. You may want to review what is required for evidence and set it aside for when you while for your I-751.
