Urgent problem. My step-daughter's visa was issued and her passport and visa arrived on Dec 23. However, only the grandmother was home and she opened everything including the sealed envelope that said not to open it. (Basically she cannot read). We need to get this envelope resealed as soon as possible. The visa expires Jan 24, 2018.

Please let me how we can get the immigration envelope resealed. Please give me a phone number or email to call. Do we need to make an appointment at the US Consulate in Guangzhou? How long will it take to get the envelope resealed?   The visa expires in 4 weeks.

I used US Travel Docs to send "Feedback" and I am waiting for a reply.   And I will trying to submit a question directly to the US Embassy in Guangzhou using their online form.  However, if anyone has any experience about this, please let me know.

Hello,

No need to panic.

All you need to do is contact the embassy that issued the visa for your step daughter. In the address line put the case number and in the body of the email state the petitioner name, address, and phone number. Underneath that provide the beneficiary name (your step-daughter, her date of birth, address and phone number of any) then explain exactly what happened. Most likely they will ask you to return all the documents including her passport and they will verify that nothing has been tampered with and reseal the envelope again and send it back. They also might ask you to bring in the documents and do the work and give it back to you, but im not sure of that.

Good luck

This link provides all the means that you can contact the embassy in order to correct the issue:
