But I got a notice by school on December 22nd they will be closed on 25th permenatly.

such a short. I tried and apply for another school, but since holiday season all the office are closed.

also I tried call to SEVIS about how long is the grace period and what should I do, they don’t have any answers.

Anyone knows about this situation?

Which School is this?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

They filed for Bankruptcy in August, seems a very dubious institution, best to have a word with your friendly Immigration Lawyer.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I graduated this month and self employed. but my name was under the school.

So in theory, your employer was the University. My understanding is under the OPT you are allowed 90 days of unemployment. Is your EAD card valid until 07/2018?

but I have employed by church. but i20 is under the school. and EAD card is until July 2018. you are correct. I want to know how much is the Grace period that I can have time for transferring

Unfortunately the OPT program has lots of gray areas and probably the reason SEVIS has not been able to provide a proper answer. Are you planning to apply for another school. My worry is because the I-20, F-1 visa, OPT and EAD card are linked to the school that shut down, would the EAD card still be valid and are you still allowed to work?

Certainly in every other EAD situation I can think of the EAD is linked to the validity of the underlying situation, hence the Lawyer suggestion, may be something odd in this case,.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
