Well everybody I am happy to announce that the interview at the embassy was great and everything was approved!!!! We are now in the United States and she is adjusting rather well. Thank you everybody for all the support and helping me out with all my questions. I did it all without a liar, I mean  lawyer!!!

Now that she has a K-3 visa, what do I do about getting her employed? She hates sitting at home doing nothing all day and she isnt too turned on to any of the Soaps on any channel.

Also her I-130 was apporved while we were in the Philippines and we got the letter and all when we got back. I need to know what the CR-1 requires in terms of employment and would it be a better route to just get the CR-1 taken care of then go get her a SSN?? I have noticed that the Employment authorization form only really pertaines to K-3 and no other marriage / fiance visa. :bonk:

I am so confused!! So far all I payed attention to is to get us back together, I never thought of the employment authorization thingie :crying:

Thx, but now I need to know what do I do under the CR-1 cirmcumstance. The I-130 is approved and I have to pay another $70 and then we go on with the CR-1 route.

Is the CR-1 an automatic employment authorization? Or do I have to still get her Authorization on top of everything?

Hi,

The CR-1 process is the end of the immigration road (until naturalization). It's a straight ticket to Permanent Residency/Green Card. No further work/travel/live permissions required.

She won't be able to work any sooner.

She will have to travel back home for the CR interview.

How long does it take for an AOS in your District Office?

If she is not interested in going back home for the CR interview, there's no point in filing *just* the EAD now. She should just apply for her AOS + EAD.

She has to choose one or the other: CR interview at 'home' or AOS.
