Hi there,

Hope this message finds everyone well during the Holidays!

Wanted to get any pointers as I am applying for my removal of conditions on residence for my K1 Visa.

I-751
I know I will have to fill out and submit I-751 form. Is there any additional steps or things I need to prepare?

Fees

$595. All Form I-751 petitions also require an $85 biometric service fee for a total of $680. See the form Instructions for payment details.

Will I have to pay the $85 bio metric fee? What is this for?

Any other tips, tricks or advice would be appreicated!

Yes, you have to pay for the biometrics fee.  As to other tips, just pull together all the evidence of a commingled marriage you have an submit it with the I751.

Good Luck!

Hi there,

Question: Does the I-751 have to be filed within in 90 days of expiration date? or 90+ days prior to the date?

For example my 2 year green card expires June 04, 2018.

I am going to mail out my I-751 package Monday April 26th, which is 72 days before June 4th.

Please advise

thanks

Within 90 days before expiration.  Your plan is fine for mailing.  You definitely need more evidence than you initially posted.

thank you @NikLR

I will be including the following... Im thinking that it is solid enough?

  • Original Bank Personal Check, in the amount of $590.00 for payment of the I-751 Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence + $85.00 for payment of Biometric fee
  • Original Form I-751 filled and signed
  • Enlarged copy of USCIS I-551 front and back (Permanent Resident Card)
  • Copies of current driver’s license, and my spouse current state ID showing joint residence at “Our Address”
  • Form 1040 highlighting the filing of our joint state taxes and IT-201 joint federal taxes to IRS for 2016 showcasing joint residence at “Our Address”
  • Copiy Gas and Electric Company monthly statements showing we are both are responsible for paying gas and electricity in our joint residence at “Our Address”
  • Bank Statement of our joint savings account for future children’s college fund.
  • Two original notarized affidavits attesting to the bondafide nature of our marriage
  • Copies of Verizon statements highlighting that my spouse supported me by providing and paying for my mobile phone upon his arrival into the U.S.
  • Copy of our airline reservations, car rental and accomodation with Air BNB for a vacation to Orange County California.
  • Photos of us at various events such as concerts, sporting events, birthdays and road trips over past 2 years
  • A series of photos of me taken by my wife over the past two years, from across the table as we enjoy eachothers company over a nice meal.
  • Photos from our court marriage including our family and friends.

Dont bother of photos of just you or your wedding.

Suggest sending last 2-3 years of your tax return transcripts vs one 1040.

Do you have anymore joint financials?

Wills?

Power of attorneys?

well I have only worked in US since 2016 and we are submitting those taxes in the 1040. We are currently filing last years taxes together and I can provide those as well.

we don't have any wills or anything as we are rather young 29 and 30.

Should I be concerned?
