Personally,  I have found if someone gets on probation, violates it and is back in prison, he isn't going to change.  Dump him.  Tell your friend to find someone who will make her happy and not be a chronic pain.  If she says no one understands him, my reply is we all understand perfectly, she is the only one who doesn't.  She will never change him.

Unfortunately  people make mistakes, but once someone like gets in his cycle of not abiding by the laws and he probable has no other support group other then the friends that also circle the sewer drain. I work in corrections as a nurse and see it time and time again, they get out of prison and just end back in there. I don't know the answers other then he is the only one that can control is actions. I personally think it's a life of heartbreak if she stays with this guy, there are so many good guys out there that are willing to care for someone without their selfish actions that land them in jail. I'm sure she can keep in the marriage and get her green card but honestly what is the point to stay with this guy who WILL end up staying incarcerated for a long time to come. Good luck in your friends life.

too many variables here

like what is he in jail for?   i don't need to know but there are felonies that will not allow adjusting

whoever this is needs a lawyer as VJ is not the right place to answer when we don't know the state,   the offense,   the sentence for this offense and the reason's for other offense

and we don't need to know as we really can't help

so sorry

BTW 3 offenses is 3 strikes
