Hi all,

My old passport (covers 4 years of the last 5 years) is damaged due to an accident. The stamps are some what legible for some entries. Others are fine.

Any issues you can foresee? What can I do at this stage? I am expecting interview in March 2018.

thanks!

What do you mean by somewhat legible?  Two years ago my passport went through the washing machine (thankfully not the dryer), and I have not had any issues.  My visas and stamps are clearly legible and the watermarks etc., were not damaged.  I once had a TSA agent ask me if it has ever gotten wet, but it still worked.  Been through CBP several times with it and so far no questions or issues.

Good Luck!

Most of my stamps are also legible. Some stamps/dates are not visible. I think it depends on the type of paper in the passport.

I will take my passport with me and explain but are old passports asked to be produced frequently during the interview?

Thanks!
