I-130 handwritten information(can spouse write the info and petitioner sign)?

Hi,

I just sent in my I-130 petition and was curious if asking my husband to write in something for me (better handwriting) is OK?

I signed the form. Also, I said "no" to use of preparer or attorney. Is that OK?

Of course it is OK.  Nobody cares who does the writing or typing.  Just have the right person sign the right spot.

@pushbrk Are you sure, because I literally called Canada post and put my package on hold. Should I let them send it? If someone else writes on your petition, doesn't he/she become a "preparer" and needs to be declared as such?

@pushbrk Also, I forgot to mention, he wrote addendum to I-130(for extra information due to lack of space on I-130) and I signed it as well. Is that OK as well? I am so freaked out right now. Thank you so much for your replies.

He already said it was Ok.

They're not going to be concerned if take spouse fills things out.

A preparer would be a third party

 

Many people here have done this.

 

Note that once someone is part of a conversion they'll get notified off btw messages, no need to tag them every single time

Thanks! I decided to just send it again with all information printed just for my peace of mind. Also, I didn't know about the notification, I am fairly new here.

You specifically asked him a question.

He gave you an answer and now you are questioning whether the information he provided is correct. 

If you doubt the answer that he provided, then why did you ask him?

I, the foreigner, filled out the i-129f petition for my now husband (the US citizen). Didn't enter my info as preparer.

I did the same thing. I firgured better safe than sorry and filled out myself as a preparer.
