Technically?

Best to have a chat with her CPA.

Sounds like she won't be legally working in the US u til her EAD is approved....good luck in your journey.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

But then you already knew she was working illegally ? Not “unsure” as per your first post.

lots of people apparently pay tax even though they’re working illegally, I personally don’t know how the mechanism works.

In fact

....the IRS says that last year nearly 4.5 million people across the country who don't have Social Security numbers filed federal tax returns and many are in this country illegally.

We do have an attorney that filed the paperwork on behalf of us. We are just a little concern with a possibility that she can get denied for EAD because she is working as self employed as a consultant with a US company.

In terms of taxation, would it best for me to file tax with my wife or have her separate? We never filed for ITIN or anything to do with IRS.

Our Immigration is currently, in the fingerprint appointment stage.

She was also given an alien number, what can use it for? Can she apply for a credit card to start her credit history running?

Thank you for your replies. We really appreciate your help.
