What now?

Hello guys,

 

I received my electronic NOA2 through the USCIS app on my phone this past Wednesday on the 20th of December, 2017.

 

What do I do now? The USCIS app tells me that they will send me a paper in the mail that will tell me what to do next. Will that paper tell me everything I need to do? Or, is there more?

 

LOL!

Nah, from what I can remember the approval notice really doesn't tell you a whole lot about the rest of the process. 

 

The next step is that USCIS sends your approved petition to NVC who will assign you a case number and ship your case off to the embassy. You can start calling NVC about 2-3 weeks after the approval to ask for the case number, you'll need it for the embassy stage and most also need it to get their medical done. NVC sends you  letter with the case number, however, many people don't get this letter until many weeks later (many don't even get it at all), so better call to get your case number.

 

There are regional subforums in here where you can read posts by people who went through the same embassy in case you want to know what to do and expect after NOA2 - after the NVC stage everything is country specific.

Update:

 

I still have not been able to select an interview date. The embassy (Moscow) received my case in late January. How about you guys?
