...and the 4th cat who likes being brushed actually rolled over and bared his tummy for this. He never does that.

So yeah, this is definitely 2 thumbs up here (or 4 paws).

Electricity is really just organized lightning.

She is great, ty...she's on me all the time...loves to be petted and brushed and she's doing this odd thing of biting and sucking on the tip of each of my fingers now. Its strange but cute... she'll paw at my hand without her claws out and then she'll move from one finger to the next.

Cats nip to show affection, especially if they were feral. Our ex-feral nips at our fingers all the time. Our older cat has picked it up from her a bit, but doesn't do it nearly as often.

 Glad it is working for everyone! I have recently seen knock offs for around $9 just not sure if they would work the same.

If you can't get them to sit still for brushing you could try what is known as a grooming block (more like rubbing rather than coming at them with a brush or comb). It is kind of a charcoal like block. If you take a long side and rub it on the edge of of something to make a 45 degree angle it will pull loose hair/dirt/dander off the coat. It stinks like sulphur but makes the coat shiny and in the end almost neutralizes any odors on the pet. When your angle gets full of hair you simply pull it off and keep going, as you notice the angled surface not grabbing so well rake it again across something to make the surface rough again. These are a couple of bucks a piece and will last for ages. This again is more for short to medium coats. It also does not get down to the skin, so might be good for those who have animals with sensitive skin.

Cats are easier to handle if they are at about table height, and have something to grip on to (rather than your arm or head), so maybe an old blanket on a table top. If you have someone willing to help you can also hold them up by cupping them under their front legs in the shoulder area so that the thumbs are on their chest and the rest of your hand has a grip around the back of the neck/top of shoulder area allowing the back paws to stay put on a non slick surface. The other person can then do the brushing. ......................some cats are better left au natural, I have scars to prove this! :P

Okay I got one too last night. I'm impressed.

Brushing is not a problem here. My cat just sees the brush in my hand and she starts meowing and purring and rolling over. I don't dare stop before she is finished

so....does this brush work on long hair cats at all???

I don't have any (I"m a huge cat lover though...I used to have 4, but alas they didn't like my kids) but my mom has 2 beautiful cats. Someday I hope to get some cats again. I love them sleeping all over my legs at nite.....somehow I found that so comforting. I somehow don't think my man has the same views...lol.

BTW...I love everyone's pics of their kitties.

Vnoe, it worked with ours, and she has some parts of pretty long hair. I had to clean out the brush after every stroke though!!! I hope you'll have a cat soon again, I think having cats lying on your legs/laps is really nice too. :)

@ Bethany: Thanks for the tip, I think putting her on a table will help a lot! She tolerates brushing for a little bit, but then she gets soooo mad. She just looks like a panther ready to kill! ;)

All the cats here are so pretty :) - I just love them all!
