I have 2 dogs that are Alaskan Malamute and we had a dip or spray thing done to them so they don't shed as much. Worked like a charm. I wonder if they can do that for cats too?

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

She is great, ty...she's on me all the time...loves to be petted and brushed and she's doing this odd thing of biting and sucking on the tip of each of my fingers now. Its strange but cute... she'll paw at my hand without her claws out and then she'll move from one finger to the next.

and thank GOD no more trees!! hahaha

The Furminator conditioner and shampoo always seemed to work best on the pups with an undercoat such as yours. Really awesome if you put the conditioner on then use a high velocity dryer to work it into the coat.

Okay I'm in for one of these. My kitty sheds something awful. I put up with it but I've had cats all my life so I'm used to it. My wife will be here in a month and has never had a pet of any sort. This was one of the 'adjustment' things I was concerned about. Hopefully this will reduce the shedding. Thanks!

I bought one of these at lunch. T minus 4 hours until testing on our 4 shedding monsters.

Thanks, Bethanie, on the extra info so we don't hurt them. :)

Tip: (oops, just read Bethanie's tip): do what Bethanie says, and short strokes work better than long, body length ones. Go gentle till you see if they'll bear it.

The video thingie they have for it shows the groomer just raking mounds of hair out.. it might not look that way with yours, but it's working. :)

PS: did you buy BandAids at the store, too?

All duly noted. Fortunately 3 of the 4 cats tolerate brushing well and the other, well, there's two of us and he's all whine and wimp.

Maybe I'll get hubby to watch the video while I corral the wee beasties. ;)

No bandaids. We always have a great supply of those (I'm very accident prone...haha)

Electricity is really just organized lightning.

So, here's my report: Mausi still doesn't like combing, but boy, that brush got like 3lbs of fur out of her coat!!!! Some of that under-hair is so light, it is really hard to pile it up, it's in the air and I had to sneeze all the time since I breathed it in through my nose!!!!!! I must so longer strokes are actually better with our cat since that way the hair falls of her - if you do short strokes it's on top of the fur and really hard to take of.

She tolerates it for about 5 minutes, then she gets soooo mad. She doesn't bite or scratch, but she just growls soooooo mean!!!! Anyway, the tool works! The lady at Petsmart said that recently a lot of people bought the brush. :)

Karin I loooooovvvvveeee you Oskar! He just looks like my childhood cat Nicky who died 2 years ago when she was 15 years old (cancer):crying:
