@rafaeltost I went through the same journey as you, and now my wife has been here for over a week and we're married. I do understand the anxiety that you have to go through. For on going evidence, we submitted viber chat logs, and some money and gift receipt that I sent her. I took the screenshot on my phone show date time stamp (mostly end of the day), you don't have to submitted every single day but every now and then. We went above and beyond and submit almost every single day. I'm not sure if they looked at it when processing our application but interview at HCM, they didn't. Our interview took only 1 min, they asked 3 brief questions and looked at a few pictures, off we went to register for visa. To make them more organized, nest 6 pictures in 1 US letter page in Photoshop and print it out, highlight the date. Good luck! I would suggest to hurry up and submit your I-129F package asap since the wait for approval is brutal

thanks for the advice.   I will use my this wisely.  and yes... i agree.  we are trying to hurry as much as we can but i am under the understanding that for vietnam, we must meet twice and have a din hon before applying.  so this is taking our time up.   we have only met once and it was in thailand.

I mean i didnt have to. But we did have one. Did it like how it normally would be in vn. We had plenty of pics of it. The CO looked at them and was satisfied. So an engagement party is acceptable in vn, becuse it is custom to have one before the actually wedding.

Important thing to note is both sides of the family knows and support you guys. Family is very important so they are usually the first to know. The question was brought up to my fiance " did your fiances family attend the engagement party" and her answer was " no they were busy working and was not able to make it"

You don't have to meet twice for "Vietnam", I only met my wife once before we submitted I-129F package. Every country has to go through USCIS first, gets approved before heading to NVC and designated embassy. You build up your evidence while waiting. I suggest visit her once or more while waiting, it doesn't have to be long trip. It shows them your commitment to the relationship. Again, it's up to you how soon you would like to be with your fiance in the States. The sooner you submit your application, the less  painful the waiting would be.

Thanks. Did you have a din hon before your visa was approved?

@rafaeltost we submitted the I-129F package, then I went back there for engagement party while waiting for I-129F approval

awsome, thanks for the advice.   it has been a great help and i think it is a better idea to go ahead and submit the I-129F packet now.  worry about the din hon later.  Did you have any family from the states attend the din hon?

I had my mom went back with me. It's nice to have relatives, not a requirement though. I remember the interview officer only looked at the pictures and didn't ask anything

did he ask who anybody was in the pics?  also, did he ask if there was a din hon?  or did you just tell him?

As I said, he only looked at the pictures and did not ask anything or who is in there.

Not sure if you guys have considered it. But k1 processing time is taking almost as long as cr-1. If you do cr-1, then once she is approved then you guys dont have to worry about AOS from the k-1, will have her gc and can work/travel right away. Just a food for thought ;)

i am not even familiar with a single bit of the CR-1 process.  and not sure how the marriage laws work in vietnam.    let me look into it.  its a good idea though now taht the K1 is taking so much longer.

Yeah im not too familair too tbh, but i do know it has alot of advantages. If i knew it would take this long then I probably would have just done cr-1. But no regrets on my part, just the way she goes

Everything above as well.

The USCIS wants to verify you have met with-in the past two years.  Quality evidence of this includes: airline tickets, passport stamps matching airline ticket dates, boarding passes, bus tickets, hotel receipts, etc.

If you are to add photos, I suggest adding photos of your visits with familiar landmarks in the background.
My wife and I only submitted 4 photos of us together with landmarks of our cities in the background: Seattle Space Needle and Vancouver BC Science World and Whistler Ski Resort.  We did add copies of her bus boarding passes when she would come to visit as well.  We provided zero chat or text logs.

We had no RFE's and approved K1 Visa with no problems.

However keep in mind, my wife came to the US from a very low immigration fraud country in Canada.  The amount of evidence you provide will be determined by the foreign fiance's country of origin.

Think like a USCIS agent.  Considering tons of immigration fraud cases out there - if you were a USCIS agent and presented with the evidence you submitted - would you believe the relationship is legit, and that you have met in-person within 2 years?

Quality > Quantity

We provided similar evidence as well.

Airline tickets, credit card statements from both of us with time and date stamps (this was super easy to do because of online banking) with pictures that coincide to those purchases (example we were in Martha's Vineyard, hotel receipts, a picture in front of a famous light house there, and credit card statements from a gift store there). We put about 4 or 5 of those types of pictures with concrete evidence together (another one was a kangaroo sanctuary with credit card statements and a picture with us and the kangaroos). I only added two chats (each less than a couple of sentences one taking about our wedding and another about fixing something at my house when he was visiting).

We had no issues with our evidence provided.
