Hi I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this. But before I visit a lawyer I noticed I might use this forum to gather info from people with similar experience. I became a US citizen in 2016. I wanted to petition for my brother who’s in West Africa. But it seems like it takes forever for this to happen possibly 14 years. My question is if I petition for my mom to become a permanent resident, can she petition for him? And would this takes lesser time for him to get here? Thanks!

hi

yes, as long as he remains unmarried while your mom is a resident. if he is married or marries, she can't file for him

the wait is still long, but shorter than yours, it will be 9 to 10 years, but less than 14

the wait for your mom is 1 year, and over 7 years for your brother if she files for him

now. does she want to come and live in the US?

you still can file for him just in case, a person can have more than one petition at the same time
