Gf-Filipina married in Philippines divorced in USA K1

K1 Visa pursuit..

My gf married her ex husband in Philippines but got divorced in usa.  I am a US born citizen and would like to bring her to USA to marry.  Do we have to wait the 3-4 years for Philippines court to make annulment or can we bypass Filipino system as we will marry in the USA?  Thanks and greatly appreciated.

There is not a requirement to get the divorce recognized or annulled in the PI in order to qualify for a US visa. She will still need to get a CENOMAR/CEMAR for the embassy interview, but the final divorce decree would also be presented to show that said marriage is dissolved under US law.

The embassy will require a CENOMAR/CEMAR, which will then show that she was married. It is obtained from the NSO. The USA divorce decree will show it is dissolved. It's not an issue...many others have done this as well.
