I agree completely. Most of us in this forum are early 2018 filers, with CGCs that expired in April - June of 2018, so the current I-797 receipt that we have is still valid and functional for another 9 months or more. It is surprising that USCIS is taking this step to reissue I-797 receipt with a longer extension statement. What I read into that, is that they KNOW how many petitions are backlogged, and anticipate being deluged with Infopass requests early next year, and do not want a tsunami of frustrated petitioners overrunning their local offices in search of an I-551 stamp. With the current letter, we are free to continue our lives, and try to forget about USCIS for another year +/-. The coming reissued I-797 will just grant another 6 months to that without any interruptions to our daily schedules.

I do recommend continuing to gather the same kind of evidentiary data that you all placed in your petition . . . Monthly Bank Statements, taking pictures together here and there, etc. In the even that an RFE shows up in the mail at some time prior to approval, there will be a lot less stress trying to gather or produce the requested evidence. 'Luck favors the well prepared . . .'

I've been reading several news stories regarding LPRs that are stripped from their rights due to some past legal issues - from driving tickets to domestic abuse misdemeanors to other more serious crimes.  ICE is going to people's homes with "administrative" warrants and picking people up. In light of the recent severe delays to LPRs looking to removing conditions (us) and waiting to submit to naturalize, it is extremely concerning that any legal problem you may run into can come to a catastrophic immigration event. Just venting. I'm extremely frustrated that I decided to immigrate to this country and suddenly encounter a very hostile environment. Hindsight is 2020 but I would definitely refrain from the same choices I have taken if given the wish of future vision.

Where are you reading this? I doubt anyone is getting deported over a driving ticket. And serious crimes? Well, in my book that is fair enough!

My guess would be a transfer from CSC to VSC, or vice-versa. If your petition is currently at either of those, (or one for the few at TSC), your notice will likely tell you that your petition was transferred, and that you do not need to do anything. Those three service centers often try to balance case loads, based on which one is backlogged the worst. I wouldn't worry.

Completely useless USCIS!! So I sent my case to CSC as per Texas residents. I got a notification of my case being transferred and a letter arrived today to explain. My case has been transferred to help with case loads to CSC!!!  Where it was sent. And we pay for this service!

Hey guys I am new to this forum trying to  understand if there is something wrong with my case.

Sent ROC I-751 package to California Center on January 22.2018 got an extension letter in like 10 days .

But after that haven't gotten anything. Not even a letter stating that they will be reusing my fingerprints.<_<

When I am checking the  online case status it pops up:

At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case. Please contact the USCIS Contact Center at 1-800-375-5283 for additional information.

Called the number and automated system advised that nothing is found under that case number.

Noticed most of you guys got that "Biometrics not required" letter in May.

Anyone else from CSC haven't received any letter after extension like me ? Or anyone can advise me what to do? :help:

Hey there! We also applied to CSC and haven't received anything after the letter of extension --- I also have the same update, so I called, they said everything was normal. My husband took an info-pass and went to a local office, they said everything was normal, they stamped his passport while he was there. That was about it. Maybe you can take an info pass and check as well? I'm sure everything is fine though since we're in the same situation! :)

Hi you all do realize that CSC does have an 18-20 months wait timeline right ? And if you got your extension letter already then just have to wait until they reach out to you  . Also if you check your case status online and no information is available , it’s not because something is wrong because if something was wrong I’m sure they’ll contact you immediately . YOU JUST HAVE TO BE PATIENT JUST THE REST OF US .

Noticed most of you guys got that "Biometrics not required" letter in May.

Anyone else from CSC haven't received any letter after extension like me ? Or anyone can advise me what to do? :help:

You are likely looking on the wrong website. USCIS updated their system a few months ago. Try this, you'll have to re-register and use two-factor authentication. https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/

Other than that, nothing to be done than waiting - at least another year at current speeds.

I received a case transfer letter yesterday. Looks like our case has been transferred to CSC.  The letter came from the Potomac Service Center. At least something is happening :P. First letter ive gotten from USCIS since Jan 4th, 2018.

Potomac Service Center? When you submit your ROC you either send it to CSC or VSC right? So which did you mail it to? I'm just asking as I mailed mine to CSC and had a transfer notice to CSC this month which makes no sense unless I was transferred prior to that also.
