Congratulations on the house!

I wish we had the same case number that way we can just easily log on and check status lol. Oh well!

From what i have gathered from other threads, we will get the initial case number once we get our NOA1, and then we will get a new number with the biometrics letter (?). Not sure if I understood that correctly. I am hearing it is very common for the status to never update from case received (even after 10 year GC has been received).

Yeah, the NOA-1 has a number on it (EAC....) but I haven't tried if it works for anything. Supposedly the Biometrics letter will have a different number - but I have not recevied that one yet.

Does anyone know if we’ll get a new case number or will it be the same as AOS? Thank you!

Also, I moved about a year ago and I updated USCIS on their website and on this new petition I put our new address. Fingers crossed NOA1 gets sent to the correct new address.

It should. I am in the same boat as you. We bought a house last year. I filled out the AR-11 online.

I believe we get a new case.

Guys, don't forget to file i865 from your Usc spouse! I was not aware and its more than 30 days from moving. What I did was, attached the form i865 together with ar11 that I filed online right when I moved, and a cover letter explaining why it was late. I sent the forms package via certified mail with return receipt requesting for uscis signature. It took them a week and half to sent my Usc spouse a notification by letter. The Ar11 can be downloaded online or just print the email confirmation. Better late than never. There are two service centers,  Texas and vermont for different states, check out this link:

Thanks for the heads up... I did not do an I-865 for my wife... Didn't know it needed to be done. It's fine to submit that now even though we moved January 2017, and the i751 with the new address was already received?

If you're the US Citizen then you should do it since it's a law that the US citizen who petitioned their spouse need to inform USCIS of their current address, same goes with the LPR by filing of AR11 online.

Yesh definitely, as long as the USC Spouse submit it. Because sometimes the system might not be updated, it seems like I-751 goes to Vermont but the updating addresses system goes to Texas for some States like where we at in GA.

They sent me a notification letter I-797C notifying that they have updated the USC Spouse address.

This will also proves that we are both living together while they are working on the ROC case.

Okay thanks!

I'm the LPR, but I filled out and printed the I865... Will get the wife to sign it, and then mail it out. I did include a quick cover letter explaining why we are late (didn't know), and a copy of the completed AR-11 along with the confirmation number showing that I filed it in January 2017. Just wasn't aware of the I865.

Oh by the way, guys, so my USC Spouse called up VSC USCIS to ask about my biometrics.

Anyway, we found out that they're working on NOV 2016 cases right now, and the officer also explains to us that its SNOWING right now, the phone reception was bad, I'm guessing same goes to packages and mails.

Give it sometime for your packages to get sorted out, I'm sure NOA will come soon!

That November date is what is on the USCIS processing timelines page for VSC, but it hasn't been updated since October 31, 2017... I believe they are working on applications from after that date.

I'll be honest, I'm not so much worried about the I751.. The biggest annoyance I think we may find as GA filers is that the DMV may be a pain in our butts... Even though the letter states status is extended for 1 year, I believe the DMV may only extend us once for 4 months with the I797.

Don't worry about that. In October last year, I changed my State ID/DL when I updated my address.

I asked the employee about the extension, he mentioned that alot of them have not seen ROC for quite sometime and are unfamiliar with it, I went through some hard time while trying to get a DL during my K1-AOS days. BUT he assured that the card extension will be as what it is on the letter.

I went to the branch at Forest Park GA.

I'll be updating my card in March, I'll let u know the outcome!
