Thanks for this forum, its very helpful.

 

I wanted to ask:-

 

I submitted my I-751 application on Jan 15 2018 to CSC and few weeks back letter that "Biometrics is not required". I just saw some application got approved after Jan and wanted to know if there something i need to do or just wait.

Still no notice from biometrics, my husband took an info pass appt and went to the local office - they just said everything looked normal? So not really sure why we havent received a biometrics notice.

 

Anyone in CO not receive theirs either?

I doubt any application after Jan 2018 is approved. Can you give me the link?

Are they approving applications ??!!!! That would be great!!! To be approved within few months. My case online still says they received my app on January 26. I also got the no bio appt required letter.

No, no one from our cohort is anywhere close to an approval.

 

VSC filers have another 7-8 months to go, CSC filers probably 12+ at current speeds.

I am new to the forum, I wanted to join just to update people waiting on having their conditions removed. I filed in early Sept 2017 and had my bio metrics done a few weeks later. I spoke with USCIS and they have not even looked at my application. They are still processing applications from February 2017! Needless to say, people filing in January of this year, are at a min 12-14 months now, which I expect will be longer under this current administration. My letter extending my Green Card is worth what its printed on, nothing. I have been detained at every border crossing (northern and southern borders) as well as at the airport by immigration. Mainly because the letter could easily be forged or photocopied, no one wants to be the one to "verify" its authenticity. The passport stamp at least works and if you travel a lot for work, like I do, is the only way to go.

I also inquired about citizenship whilst I had this pending, they said you can certainly go ahead and apply...it is a 12-16 month wait time on naturalization forms so I wouldn't worry too much about the latter getting approved before the former. Again, under this administration I honestly believe I will not see citizenship before the next election. Also during election years they mysteriously slow down the number of applications processed so there's that.

My case status hasn't budged; still says: We received your biometrics fee and will begin processing your case.

Biometrics were back in February.

I  filed my case with a divorce waiver however, I am yet to send my final divorce degree because it wasn't final as at the time I filed. I now have my divorce finalized and I have my final divorce decree already. When will USCIS request for this? can I just send it to them before they Issue me a RFE? Any comment or advice will be really appreciated.

Just wanted to update everyone. Luis got back from his Colombia trip visiting family and had no problem using his extension letter. Airport in Colombia knew exactly what it was and had no problems with it. Immigration in Orlando (MCO) had no problems either. Sent to secondary for 15 minutes. They asked him why he was in Colombia, where his husband worked, the last 4 of his social and that was it. I was actually so stressed and worried this entire time he was gone because I thought there would be problems and there were none.

I'm with you. Concerns me slightly that there's been NOTHING since. It's been so long ago that i went through the K1 and the AOS applications that I bet there were long stretches where nothing changed there, either.

 

P.S. For anyone concerned, I've used the combo of the expired GC + Extension Letter as proof of identity to fly WITHIN the US without problems. On my outward trip from BHM to JAX, I used my paper driving licence (just had it renewed as my initial one was dated as per my GC) and had a terrible time needing to be patted down and have my bags checked (makes me laugh as neither of those things help prove my identity which the plastic card would've!) so decided to try the GC + Ext Letter combo on my way back and they looked at it and let me through with no problems!

Yeah, I don't even have a physical green card (error on my GC, so just a temp stamp in my passport). No problems entering the US, though I was subjected to secondary inspection. When leaving my home country, the exit immigration officers seemed a little puzzled by the stamp, but eventually let me through ("None of our business" lol).

 

I have also crossed the Canadian border with same.

I am in San Diego, CA and still haven't received any notice from biometrics.

I think it's okay - when my husband went to the InfoPass appointment, they said everything was fine. While he was there, they stamped his passport for him.

 

Just waiting until Jan 2019 and then applying for citizenship anyway
