Got our biometrics letter. No appointment for Luis. It says: 

"USCIS has received your form and is currently processing your application. This notice informs you that USCIS is able to reuse your previously captured fingerprints and biometrics. USCIS will run the same security checks and use your biometrics data as in the past, , it is NOT necessary for you to appear at a USCIS ASC for a biometrics appointment. The biometrics fee will NOT be refunded."

 

So technically we received our Bio Appointment letter to be told we don't have to have an appointment.

Please update our information in the spreadsheet.

December 10, 2018 saw in 'Documents' section of USCIS that Bio scheduled for  28 December 2018.

December 13, 2018 did a walk-in to the scheduled service center, and they did the appointment on the spot. New completion time reads 13 months to February 2020.

May 10, 2019 - received notification that interview has been scheduled. Date for the interview is Jun 12th, 2019. Completion time reads 9 months to February 2020.

June 12, 2019 - Passed the Interview. Waiting for Oath Ceremony Date. Estimated Wait Time: 6 months per the online portal. 

June 17, 2019 - Oath Ceremony Scheduled to July 9th, 2019. Wait Time: 5 months per the online portal. 

July 9th, 2019 - Oath Ceremony Done, Naturalization complete. Total time was 220 days or 7 months and 8 days.

Same thing! They will reuse my biometrics so no appointment. Not sure if I should update my timeline in any way...

Can anyone who has feedback from USCIS confirm that their online account reflects the same information received on the bio-appt letter?

I did. And I just put todays date so that way it helps with the tracking and then in the comments section under ROC I just put a NOTE: and explained that no appointment was required.

Kinda feels like a letdown to wait this long and then get this letter. But I mean I'm glad this happened now because Luis is traveling back to Colombia to visit family at the end of the month and I saw a few people getting appointments for that time and I was like ohhhhh no.....

It's weird though, I wonder why some people are getting appointments and some people aren't?

I also received the no biometrics letter yesterday, 5/11. The notice date is 5/5. I filed at CSC. 

 

Does it mean anything if you received either a biometrics schedule/no biometrics schedule? Or is this random?

I too received a Biometrics letter on 05/11, saying they were using my prints from last time so I don't need an appointment. Kind of annoying that they just take that money, but I guess at least I don't have to drive a five hour round trip anymore!

K-1 Visa Process (182 days from I-129F filed -> Visa in Hand)

 

 

May 10th, 2015: Got Engaged!

June 12th 2015: Fiance filed I-129F, June 19th, 2015: (NOA1) Received at California Service Center

July 23rd, 2015: (NOA2) NVC received

Aug 31st, 2015: NVC Approved and fwd case to consulate in Montreal. MTL case # given.

Sept 8th, 2015: MTL received and sent P3 by mail, Sept 18th, 2015: P3 received in mail, Sept 18th, 2015: DS-160 completed and P3 documents sent by e-mail

Sept 21st, 2015: P3 Approved. Received P4 by e-mail, Sept 21st, 2015: Booked K-1 Visa interview for December 2nd, 2015!!

Oct 2nd, 2015: Booked Medical in Toronto for November 12th, 2015

Nov. 12th, 2015: Medical done in Toronto, ON with Dr Lyndon Mascarenhas. Highly recommend him!!

Nov. 17th, 2015: Medical results delivered by Purolator

"USCIS has received your form and is currently processing your app...This notice informs you that USCIS is able to reuse your previously captured fingerprints and other biometrics. USCIS will run the same security checks and use your bio data as in the past however it is not necessary for you to appear at an ASC for a biometrics appointment(it is actually bolded in letter). The bio fee will not be refunded".

 

At least they saved us a 6 hour round trip!

 

the myaccount.uscis site does not reflect this notification.

 

They also processed our address change correctly too. Sent it to the right address. Whew!
