Hi guys, finally I found you :jest:

I filled the I-751 on Jan 6th.

NOA date is 01/10/2018

California Service Center has my case but I'm not able to check for  updates and the system shows a validation error:

  • My Case Status does not recognize the receipt number entered. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the USCIS Contact Center at 1-800-375-5283.

Does somebody here have that kind of message?

I had the exact same message when I checked my status today. 😐

Anybody seen this type of message when checking your case online?

”As of April 9, 2018, we completed our review of your fingerprints and are working on your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence...at our Vermont Service Center location.”

My husband just got his license renewed again last week. The lady who renewed it for us sent everything through the system and then showed us that his status is marked as ‘Indefinite’.

I would love to see this...ANYTHING! lol

Married in Aug 2014.  Submitted paperwork immediately.  Got 2 year card with a date of September 2015 on it.  In June 2016, applied for 10 year card.  In September 2017, got a temporary letter stating that her card was good for another year and for her to go get biometrics.  We did in Memphis, TN.  It has been 7 months into that 12 month period and we've heard nothing.  Should we write, call or ask my Congressman for help?  If I am not mistaken, after she has a green card for 3 years, she can apply for citizenship.  What happens this September with or without a new green card?  Can she go ahead and apply for citizenship since she's had green card status for 3 years?

So I *may* have misread my change of address confirmation letter. The letter says that the "service request" was the change of address request and that the "service request" has been transferred to the CSC to be processed. Does this simply mean the CSC deals with address changes or has my whole petition been sent there? Any ideas, anyone?

Really weird - I went to SSA office with conditional GC for replacement and they sent me SSN without any restriction. I don't see "Only for work authorization DHS" written on my current SSN card which I had it on old SSN prior to  conditional GC.

I really hope, my HR don't ask for documents again - I joined current job  on Employment Authorization and Advance Parole Card then I voluntarily submitted my conditional GC once I received in hand.

that's actually what it's supposed to be. It was the same thing when I did mine because of all intent and purposes you are a resident.

Hi all I am hoping you can help before I post a thread.

So due to our ignorance when my husband started working when he moved here, he provided his Green Card for his I-9 instead of his unrestricted SSN and DL. That is our fault as we didn't realize we could have avoided this problem.

Anyways, his green card expires on April 22nd and he went to HR at his work today to let them know that the GC they have on file for him is expiring and he told them he had his Extension Letter or he could complete a new I-9 with List B and C documents. Anyways, HR looked at his Extension letter and told him they needed to contact legal because they have never seen one before. Now, the company that my husband works for is one of the top financial companies in the country and he doesn't work in a branch, he works in the corporate office. So it is kind of shocking to me that they don't know this process, especially since they even sponsor people for work visas.

But anyways, he is going back to HR tomorrow morning, is there anything he can show them from USCIS to give HR more info. I don't want this to become a disaster or for him to be fired.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Nothing you can do on your end. I think you kinda have to wait for them to go thru their legal team. Also, I suspect the HR person doesn't know this himself/herself, but I think their legal team, assuming they are cooperating with external law farm,  should be pretty familiar with it.

He got to work this morning with an email from HR asking for a copy of his GC. Which is strange to me because they have a copy from when he completed his I-9 when he got hired. So now they are going to see on his Green Card that it expires 4/22/18 even though it has been extended for 1 year.

I saw someone on this thread a while back link to an official site with guidance to employers around extension letters, it may be worth finding that and sending the link to the HR department - it may speed things up.

Thank you so much for the link! And here is verbatim what I found while searching USCIS.gov:

Section 7.1 of the M-274 Handbook for Employers:

LPRs and conditional residents may be issued temporary I-551 documents. These documents are acceptable for Form I-9 as follows:

The combination of an expired Permanent Resident Card and a Form I-797, Notice of Action, that indicates that the card is valid for an additional year, is an acceptable List C evidence of employment authorization for one year as indicated on Form I-797. At the end of the one-year period, you must reverify.

FAQ section of I-9 Central on USCIS.gov:

Section 3, Question 5:

Must I reverify an employee who presented for Form I-9 a Permanent Resident Card that expires in two years and contains conditions?
No, you should not reverify this employee. For more information, refer to the M-274 Part 2, Reverification and Evidence of Status for Certain Categories.
