Lucky! 🙂. I filed Jan 17th and I did a SR on March 5th and I still haven’t heard anything and nothing has changed so far in the uscis website other than stating I submitted a SR  😣.. so stressful 😓

Liz, I’m on the same boat :/ I wish I could receive that notice like the others at least to have a little bit of peace. Oh well :/

For those who have submitted a service request regarding biometrics, did you guys receive a response via USPS from your local field office? On March 9, I submitted an SR (non-delivery of notice) and promptly received an email notice saying that biometrics may or may not be needed and to wait until further notice. Then on March 12 my wife called a service rep called in (unbeknownst to me) and submitted a second request which showed up on the USCIS tracker as (biometric/fingerprint referral). Today I received an email from USPS Informed Delivery with a scanned picture of a letter sent by my local USCIS office in Los Angeles. Has anybody else received a letter from their local office after submitting a SR? I can't check my mail until after work, and I'm itching to find out what it says. I know...patience is a virtue, but I just need to know!

We did a change of address (online) From Richmond VA to Denver CO, this past October, and only received the email confirmation. Never anything from USPS. Before we filed our I-751 petition, I waited for a couple of hours on hold to speak to a USCIS Representative, to ask about it. I was told that if I received an email response, that was sufficient, and that it was definitely correct in their system. I asked her to check, based on my spouses A-number, and she verified (with my wife's permission) that it was our new address.

Just to be sure, I included that narratve in the cover letter that we sent with out petition, and also a copy of the email with the confirmation number highlighted.

UPDATE:

So my wife went home on her lunch break to see what the letter was about... The letter just states that we are within the "normal" processing time frame for I-751 yada yada yada...I wasn't really holding my breath for an ASC appointment, but it was nice to fantasize for a few hours about winning the USCIS lottery jackpot...sigh...

I just got the email everyone is getting EBBF00AA-40AE-4F8B-B84C-D2CCAE539A34.thumb.png.8dc670a8396fae8dea16110ddc781ce9.png

This is exactly the email I got yesterday--even the 3/5/18 date is the same.  I'd be perfectly happy to have biometrics "reused" so as to save me a 2 hour drive (each way) for a 10 min appointment, even if it means I don't get those $80 back.  Hoping to hear something soon, but not holding my breath...

As I am in the same boat at this... has anyone who has had their biometrics appointment and have the same receipt number also not seen a change in their case status despite having the biometrics appointment? Mine still says "My Fingerprint Fee was Received" - I would hope so, I've already had the fingerprints taken haha!

VSC filer here:

Received Biometrics notice today in mail. Notice dated March 2nd. Appointment is on Mar 22nd.

One question I do have is, a lot of people have been talking about a case number on their biometrics notice, I do not have that on mine, and went to check on my bio notice for AOS 2 years ago, not there either.  So how/where to obtain that case number ?

GOOD LUCK TO ALL

I have the same thing but don't think it's an issue? it might be better actually that we don't have different Case numbers?

.....it only took what? a month? for my wife to receive her biometrics

same case number, same status, same everything

again, i don't think it's an issue.. maybe the Service Centers are catching up to speed now? anyhows, like i said.. i don't think this is an issue, i do not think you're "supposed to" get a different case number

So, a Wise thing to do is to begin preparing for any RFEs that may or may not come, by continuing to gather copies of bank statements, (new house loan), continued photos, etc. Compile a set of continued data from your filing date forward, and have it in a folder ready to go. IF you get an RFE, you are already prepared. Turn-around time is 1 day, with no scrambling needed.

I am also going back through the past few years of VJ postings and reading what types of REFs have been demanded, and comparing them against the copy of our I-751 petition (which we made and kept in the event that USCIS loses or misplaces our petition file). If I find a RFE for evidence we did not send, we will prepare to send it (if they ask).

From my recollection of the I-129f Waiting Game, people who sent in additional information ( that was not requested) were told that it can add 30 to 45 days of extra processing time,  because the Service Center has to link up the old and new data.

Fortunately with a lot of this stuff (bank statements etc.) it's all online these days so takes 2 seconds to access it all.

On your second point - indeed, wait for them to ask rather than send more unsolicited. If what we sent turns out to be enough, it's all a moot point anyway! However, even in the event of an RFE, buying a house should be enough to convince them!

Side note (and some good news) - went to the DMV to renew my DL yesterday and got a new one for a year (after GC expiry date) with the I797 with no questions asked. Pleasantly surprised that the person dealing with mine knew how to deal with these documents!

Got this response back from USCIS after we e-filed an inquiry which I title "where the heck is our biometrics letter". Wasn't expecting anything different seeing that they have given this response to people from December concerning their biometrics inquiry. The bright side I looks like we won't have to take a 6 hour-round trip for a 10 minute fingerprinting party.

"On 03/07/2018, you or your representative contacted USCIS concerning your I-751 / CRI89 to notify us that you have not received your biometrics appointment notice. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

Thank you for your inquiry regarding an appointment to have your biometric images processed at an Application Support Center (ASC). We are, unfortunately, experiencing a longer processing period than what is reflected on your Form I-751 Receipt Notice. Be advised that USCIS may be able to reuse the previously captured fingerprints and other biometrics for some applicants and have their biometrics copied into our systems.  In addition, USCIS can run the same security checks and use the same biometric data as in the past and may not need to schedule an additional biometrics appointment.  However, if a biometric appointment is necessary, USCIS will schedule your appointment electronically and mail the appointment notice to your current mailing address. The biometrics fee will not be refunded"
