So I know that if we track with the case number on the NOA, it just says finger prints fee received, and that we should received a different case number with our biometrics letter. I just noticed that the numbers are the same. Is anyone else seeing the same?

As I am in the same boat at this... has anyone who has had their biometrics appointment and have the same receipt number also not seen a change in their case status despite having the biometrics appointment? Mine still says "My Fingerprint Fee was Received" - I would hope so, I've already had the fingerprints taken haha!

So Far, With only ONE exception, 105   VJ members filing their I-751 petitions with the USCIS California Service Center in 2018 are Still Waiting for their BioMetrics Appointments.

Filers to CSC in 2017 averaged 3 to 4 weeks each month. That Ended Last Year. 2018 filer's biometrics appointments are MIA.

Meanwhile, those 2018 filers whose petitions were sent to the Vermont Service Center are receiving their Biometrics appointments in the normal expected timelines, as compared to 2017.

The sucky part is that if these guys at the CSC "reuse" our fingerprints from before simply because they can't catch up, we don't get our $8o-something fee that we paid for them to take our fingerprints in the first place. So glad we may have paid for a service that we won't get!

I personally wouldn't mind not having to drive 3 hours one-way for a 10 minute appointment for fingerprints.

I'm referring to the December filer who got a response after he submitted an inquiry hinting at this very possibility that I quoted on page 61

Remember people to keep saving paperwork and planning ahead for filing your Naturalization. Once the window opens up you can apply for it while your I-751 is still processing, and it's looking like at this point (especially for CSC filers) if you are planning to go for full citizenship, that is what you will have to do. Never stop saving paperwork, never stop doing things that intertwines your lives and saving records of those things. There's always a possibility of an RFE and you'll need to prove your life kept on going while you're waiting.

The irony is that in the time SINCE we submitted our ROC stuff, we've moved towards buying a house which would've been nice evidence for the ROC haha

So, a Wise thing to do is to begin preparing for any RFEs that may or may not come, by continuing to gather copies of bank statements, (new house loan), continued photos, etc. Compile a set of continued data from your filing date forward, and have it in a folder ready to go. IF you get an RFE, you are already prepared. Turn-around time is 1 day, with no scrambling needed.

I am also going back through the past few years of VJ postings and reading what types of REFs have been demanded, and comparing them against the copy of our I-751 petition (which we made and kept in the event that USCIS loses or misplaces our petition file). If I find a RFE for evidence we did not send, we will prepare to send it (if they ask).

From my recollection of the I-129f Waiting Game, people who sent in additional information ( that was not requested) were told that it can add 30 to 45 days of extra processing time,  because the Service Center has to link up the old and new data.

We just bought a house so we're just going to send in the proof along with 2017 tax transcript along with copies of our NOA1.  The notice says you can submit more proof if you just include copies of the document. Seems like it can only help prevent a RFE.

While that may indeed prevent an RFE, it could also add additional processing time to your petition. The complaints I remember from the I-129 process, was from filers who sent in additional information, (without an RFE request). They were told that it would add 30 to 45 days to their adjudication time. It was further stated that an agent would have to be assigned to find the original petition packet (waiting somewhere in line), verify that the new evidence was from the same filers, and then add the new evidence to the original petition. There would also be forms that the assigned agent needed to fill out to indicate that this had been done.

My suggestion is, since it is entirely possible that enough evidence has been filed already, just be prepared with any additional evidence IF they request it.

Sending it without a request will Definitely add processing time. It may be a better choice to have evidence ready to go, but only send it IF it is Requested.

Agreed.

Always have the information ready to send, but NEVER send it without an RFE for it.

For those who have submitted a service request regarding biometrics, did you guys receive a response via USPS from your local field office? On March 9, I submitted an SR (non-delivery of notice) and promptly received an email notice saying that biometrics may or may not be needed and to wait until further notice. Then on March 12 my wife called a service rep called in (unbeknownst to me) and submitted a second request which showed up on the USCIS tracker as (biometric/fingerprint referral). Today I received an email from USPS Informed Delivery with a scanned picture of a letter sent by my local USCIS office in Los Angeles. Has anybody else received a letter from their local office after submitting a SR? I can't check my mail until after work, and I'm itching to find out what it says. I know...patience is a virtue, but I just need to know!

Hi, I called on 2/26 regarding the biometrics that I didn't received.  Two days ago I logged into my uscis acct and it says that " on 3/13/18 an officer sent a response about a notification (bio appt) that I haven't received"   Praying for good news of what the letter says. I will post as soon as I find out. I also subscribed for "informed delivery" with USPS as well. Like you say, patience is a virtue! Just the not knowing is nerve-wracking.

Trusting in God for good news🙏🙏

Lucky! 🙂. I filed Jan 17th and I did a SR on March 5th and I still haven’t heard anything and nothing has changed so far in the uscis website other than stating I submitted a SR  😣.. so stressful 😓
