Meanwhile, the 'Not-Knowing' is Rather Inconvenient. My wife would like to travel back to Korea to visit Family and friends, but because we might get the biometrics appointment at any time . . . (or not at all), we cannot risk buying a $1400 round trip ticket for her to fly back to her home country, and then have to scramble to get her back to the US in time for a bio appointment, should the proverbial letter arrive shortly after she flies out. Surely they should at least be able to ascertain whether or not a petitioner's old biometrics data will be used or not, and let the petitioner know something. Making petitioners wait in silence for something that may or may not ever come is quite unprofessional, inexcusable, and unacceptable.

Ok, whining done. I feel better now.

I completely agree with you! I didn’t even think about this. I wanted to fly to Germany this year so my grandparents could meet their great grandchild, but like you said...it’s too risky and we don’t have the funds to buy plane tickets all the time. This makes me so sad. I also wanted to add that i think it’s great that you put in the effort and made an excel spreadsheet! Very neat!

I phoned in and did the I751 by myself, I'm guessing based on your call being a few days after me you'll get the same response soon. Does it state your case was also sent to your local office? Its been 2 months exactly since I received my extension letter at home.

I receive de my extension letter in 2/6/18. I'm just very anxious at this point. God willing everything will be approved soon for all of us🙏

And you're letting this stop your plans? Just book the trip, if the appointment arrives go to the center with your flight details before or after and explain why it was missed.

Same exact thing I’ll be doing. I planned a trip for us in April and it’s literally Friday to Monday, four days, to Mexico City. If it falls on those dates then I’ll have my husband go in a few days before. My dad has actually just walked in and gotten his biometrics done when he didn’t receive his biometric notice for renewal of GC. Since they already had him in the system and he explained the situation they let him through.

Ok, whining done. I feel better now.

I was having your concerns during January, heading home for me costs $1700 USD and 26 hours flight its insane. Here's what I did, I called up USCIS and talked to an officer about my concerns and she asked when I'm travelling (they will also asked HOW MANY TIMES U HAVE CALLED IN, it was our first), and told me I got to wait for biometrics or risk it since no one is there to check our mails and to assist to mail out rescheduling for appointment.

I believe officers are not allowed to tell u details but she did a really nice thing by sending my biometrics and arranging it for me before my trip! Right after talking to her few days after I received my biometrics, I'm sure the officer helped somehow but not allowed to say so.

Get your USC spouse to talk to the officer.

Received Biometrics notice today in mail. Notice dated March 2nd. Appointment is on Mar 22nd.

One question I do have is, a lot of people have been talking about a case number on their biometrics notice, I do not have that on mine, and went to check on my bio notice for AOS 2 years ago, not there either.  So how/where to obtain that case number ?

GOOD LUCK TO ALL

Its on your Biometrics and NOA letter. There's two numbers, starting from WAC. Take a look at it :)

We just received the biometrics appt letter in the mail today. I made two calls to the service center yesterday; the first of which I was told by the service agent they were having technical difficulties and I’d have to call back and was promptly hung up on. The second gentleman was much nicer and put in a request for me, but now I wish I had just waited one more day and not had to deal with the first rude individual 😜

I just got my biometrics letter in the mail - scheduled for 3/23, the notice date is 3/2/18, so it took forever to get here, but then we did have the storm this week, so I guess that delayed things :-)

Now I just have to go to it, then then I can go back to blissful waiting for another year :-D
