Just received my biometrics appointment - dated 23rd Feb and appointment 12th March (Elizabeth NJ) but I'm going to be back in England for family reasons. I'm thinking I'll go in tomorrow and ask if they can take my biometrics tomorrow or if they're flexible on timing on 12th March  (appointment at 11am but landing at JFK at 9:30 so won't make it). Any advice on this approach? I'm aware you can mail in the letter to reschedule it but would rather not delay it further if possible

Wow looks like VSC is moving with biometrics, I'm wondering what's going on with CSC!

@CharlieJK have you called in and ask? Not sure about walk-ins but I read somewhere in previous posts that someone said one of the office don't take walk-ins and some do. I hope everything works for you!

I haven't yet, I received the letter when I got home Friday evening (once the office had closed) so tomorrow is the first time both the office and call centre is open. I figure going in can't hurt (worse case scenario they tell me to go away). I think I've read about some centres accepting walk ins and others not as well, hopefully I'll be lucky.

I finally called (1-800-375-5283) to find out what is going on with my biometrics. 

The lady on the phone took down my name, mailing address, DOB, receipt no. on NOA form. After being on hold for almost 15 minutes, she came back on phone and said that I should hear something from them within 15 days. I asked her if she can give me any reference no. to this conversation and she gave me a ref no. for the service request.

Just walk-in with your letter ASAP and get it over with. If they don't allow you in then get a new appointment.I have been to two different application support centers, in two different states, and neither of them were legitimately busy.

I can’t get to talk to anyone in the 800 number for CSC. The recording keeps telling me that my receipt number is not correct when I dial it in 😓.. can I do a case inquiry online for missing biometrics appointment? It’s been 45 days for me after notice date. I tried calling many times already 😓

The lady was very polite (but also pretty robotic and formal) and said I may not hear back for 15-30 days and not to call back until 30 days had passed.

 

I struggled to get through to someone at first, the key is to not put in a receipt number and select the option saying that you've lost it, they'll connect you through to some fairly quickly.

The options that I used had changed, they now give guidance 

Press 1 to continue in English (assuming English is your first language)

Then press 2 to hear the latest on your petition

Then press 2 (if you have lost, do not know what is is etc - it nowtries to guide you to where it is)

Then Press 2 (if you have lost it or do not know what it is we will connect you to a representative)

Thank you so much Charlie. I got it now. The first cal got cut off while I was on hold when the representative was checking my info. I called back and got someone else and asked me again for all the info and gave me a confirmation number but I couldn’t understand one of the first letters he gave me and I asked him 2 times but he was rude and I still couldn’t understand 😓.. does your confirmation number starts with TI?

Yes, mine started with T1F and ended with VSC (so I assume some people's would end with CSC), in between were numbers which appear random as far as I can tell!

Ok thank you! Yes you assume right, mine ends with CSC. Hopefully we will hear some news soon! If not, we can call back again after 30 days 😳. There’s no way to track the service request status with the number they gave us, is there?

So I got my CA drivers license today and to my surprise, it says in the corner for the first time “federal limits apply.” Maybe they did that because of the letter? Not even when I had work permit, they never did that.. so annoying.. now I have to present my license, green card and letter to prove that I’m legal in this country. 😒
