Out of curiosity - I am looking for a new job. If I get it and they ask for Green card, I know I will get an extension letter - I assume that is accepted by companies and legitimate? I hope they dont say, we need to see an in date GC.

I am assuming that the combination of the expired card and the noa that states that the status has been extended for an year will be sufficient to show them for proof of work authorization cos the same is being accepted for port of entry and dmv purposes. 

 

I wish they understood that everyone looks at these expired cards and supplemental  document type evidence in a different way and at least had some infrastructure in place to either process the roc cases faster through higher fee for those in need or provided another 1 year card or something that doesn't necessarily cause doubts to employers, banks, credit lenders, housing landlords or mortgage lenders, airport staff etc. May be there is someone we can write to about unique situation with cases taking so long, I think this anxiety is not justified for people doing it legally I.e. came in legally and we're never our of legal status.  Any ideas are welcomed...

Has there been a "directions' list posted by anybody? we don't start filing until about August (10/22/16 GC received), but i like to prepare ahead especially with busy life and hubby in school....

Hi , I agree with all that you are stating here . However as much as we want the process to move faster we have to be mindfull that the service centers get  tens of thousands of applications on a daily bases . These people are just doing their jobs to make sure the application in front of them has nothing fraudulent going about it . We just need to be patient and let them do their jobs , after all we are the ones seeking permission to continue living in their country . Im sure once the job that you’re applying for run a background check they’ll see you are authorized to live and work here .

It won't work. Wait until you get the biometrics letter. That is the # they will use for updates and stuff. I only know this because I stalked other ROC threads in prep for ours and that's what they've all said

I think that is normal. The Biometrics letter will have a new number...impatiently waiting for mine.

Mine says the samething when I track it.

 

i did read on other threads the biometrics letter will have a different receipt #. I’ll confirm once mine comes in the mail
