Hello hello again fellow VJ-ers! It's been a while. We are waiting on one last document that should be in our hands tomorrow and we will be off in the mail tomorrow or Wednesday.

 

We ended up buying a house last year and it's terrible but one of the thoughts I had during the closing process was "man, the mortgage paperwork and deed is going to come in handy with USCIS!" :D :jest:

NOA1 via email: 11/5/15 - case routed to CSC
NOA1 via snail mail: 11/17/15

NOA2 via email: 12/9/15!!!!!

NOA2 via snail mail: 12/16/15

NVC received case: 12/16/15

Case # and IIN over the phone: 1/4/16, assigned 12/29/15

DS-261 submitted and AOS fee paid: 1/4/16

DS-261 reviewed over the phone: 1/8/16

Sent AOS and IV documents, received and paid IV fee: 1/11/16

All new January Filers, welcome on board the "Success Ship" we're heading to our destination called "Victory". This is  six months to a year journey; depending on the ocean (USCIS) waves. 

We have few passengers to pick-up on  01/30/2018 and 01/31/2018. Anyone who comes after these dates will be joining the next  success' ship (February filers); unless those on board this ship, but didn't answer to roll call or wasn't added to January's filers sheet. 

Don't worry about the storms. Heavy weather sailing such as strong winds and high waves (Request for Evidence or Interview) can wreak havoc; however, we are all legitimate and licit passengers. More besides, we  have a captain (GOD) whose hours of experience is beyond thoughts. Trust me, HE will take us thru safely.

This ship will dock on the sea port of "Victory Land".

We all will be successful!

Hi all,

I tried a search on VJ with a variation of words but couldn't really find anything. Before posting a new thread I had a question that I thought I'd ask fellow January filers. My husband received his extension letter NOA yesterday. Once his GC expires in April does he have to keep the letter on him at all times along with his GC? Logistically, unless he has a messenger bag on him at all times, the letter won't really fit in his wallet (two thick 8.5x11 papers). 

What are your thoughts or what you plan on doing with the letter? 

Scan it as a PDF and save to phone? Keep photocopy in car? (if asked for it say "this is a photocopy and the original is in our firesafe at home"?) I know if we travel he needs to have the original with him to enter the US, but what about at all other times?

I welcome all ideas!

I am not carrying the letter. Or the GC. Controversial I know. I have a picture of my GC on my phone and a scan in my email Will do the same with the letter. I only take my GC when I am traveling.

Technically, I suppose you have to carry it.
