How long is the I-551 stamp valid for? Does it show an expiration date?

They gave a year I-551 stamp, yes it has a date. Mine expires in October 2019

I'm so upset, I have even heard some April 2018 filers got approved.....they have never been transferred... why did they transfer the case to somewhere even slower than CSC?

Timeline

I just checked 200 cases around me, and some are approved but most of them are still "case was transferred".

And my case is the only one saying "date of birth was updated" on 2/15.

I guess one of the officer is working on mine since 2/15?  For more than 2 weeks???? Ugh.

I really need this green card right now to apply reentry permit as soon as possible. I have to move back to my country in the middle of March and will stay there for a few years...to leave the states, I really need to apply reentry permit right now :( where is my green card!!!

Receipt date 1/2/2018 WAC1809400xxx

No biometrics

18months extension letter

Case was transferred to Nebraska on 2/4/2019

Date of birth was updated on 2/15/2019

No n400

Getting something today that looks very much like a NOA dated 2/26 (so, praying it’s an approval rather than a transfer notice or a RFE)... online myUSCIS profile not updated at all so not entirely sure what to expect...

I751 Submission Date: 1/30/2018

Service Center: CSC
Notice of Action Issue Date: 2/5/2018

Notice of Action Received Date:2/9/2018

Biometrics: reused

Interview for I751: n/a

Approval Date: n/a

N400: YES/NO if apply - NO

Notes: Case transfer, RFE etc that you would like to add on.

Got an email on 1/18/19 that action has been taken on your case. Then two weeks later same email. After that crickets. My.uscis says “case received” the old status check site says receipt number incorrect. All apps show invalid receipt number.

Called uscis and got to know receipt number is valid. Case still with CSC. It hasn’t been transferred.

I think someone asked this earlier but I didn’t see the answer (or maybe I just missed it) so I’ll ask again here. For those of us still waiting to be approved, are we required to get our foreign passports stamped with I-551? I thought at first the 12/18 month extension letter was enough, or are we required to have both when traveling while waiting for the GC? I am going to the Philippines in July and hoping to get everything straight in case I don’t have an approval yet by then. Thanks!

If you are within the 18 month period, then passport and the extension letter. Have extra time on your hands at the foreign airport for the officials to acknowledge your extension letter and let you on board.
