Yeah, the new myUSCIS site is bogus - I wonder if they never fully implemented it. It shows just that my case was received whereas the old USCIS case tracker just gives me & many others, an error message.

I saw about five applicants approved after my case number on the app on 22nd February. Hope I can get the approval soon...

Do you think they are going by country of origin?

I highly doubt it. As spouse of USC, we all falls under same category irrespective of country of origin. I think it really boils down to where are you sitting. Let's say IO who was assigned case to retired / moved to another location & no one followed with your case Or he simply waiting on some report from another department etc.

Let's not forget individual profile can play major role in how that individual case is handled.

One of my friends filed a divorce waiver April 2017, after her receipt she never checked on her status, she took her mind off it, and said what will be will be.

In August she received another mail saying she will receive letter for i751 interview. In October 2018 she received the letter and went for interview in November, she came home and after a week she received her approval letter and the next day she received her card in the mail.

please stop 🛑 checking and checking your status all the time, it is going to give you heart ❤️ attack. Just relax and go around your business.

I filled in Feb 2018 @ VSC.  I don’t check I don’t think about it, and I don’t care about people been approved whilst mine is still pending.

What will be will be. Seriously 😳 am ok, and happy for those approvals, it shows cases are been worked on.

Good luck 🍀👍🏽 to everyone.

Pure speculation on my part, but although I think they won’t assign or actively work batches of cases by country of origin/nationality I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some cherry picking involved.

The offices probably have some sort of quotas to meet and may work ‘easier’ cases from their workload first to bump their numbers up. E.g, sending out RFEs for cases with clearly not enough information. I’ve been told informally by a couple of immigration officers that they tend to just ‘wave through’ (by which I took to mean scrutinise less) UK applications as there’s less chance of visa fraud. While I’m pretty certain that nothing just gets waved through it would make sense that some cases will take longer to assess for a variety of reasons, nationality may have a small bearing on this.

I think there was someone that posted a few pages back about the adjudication guidelines, and when an officer issues an RFE, they will sometimes need to get their manager to approve the RFE... and the case stays under the officer that issues the RFE

It would be interesting to see how they do select which case gets worked on a given day, or how they are sorted.

Honestly, if  IO who is either slacking or running into deadline - you might quickly pick up countries which has low visa fraud rate and send out approval quickly.

@morgan.croft

It was me.

The opened, but unadjudicated, files (eg. RFE is issued), always stay with the officer working that file until it is adjudicated or otherwise transferred to another officer or office.

RFE that is standard in nature does not require a supervisory reviewed (you can see multiple of them posted here in VJ threads, a lot of them virtually look and sound the same).  A junior (less than 1 year with USCIS) officer generally will get “some” of his/her RFE reviewed before it is mailed out.
