Received a “touch” on our case filed January of this year . “

We are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time

We will notify you when your case status changes. We last took action on your case on September 26, 2018.

Maybe they are starting to review January 2018 cases ?

That would be great!  God willing we might have our approvals by Christmas time🙏

Maybe the action on September was when they sent the 18-month ext letter. Which I received a courtesy letter instead of official.

How did you get that update?????

I set up my account for alerts on “my uscis case status acct” and never received a text nor email.

Good news! However, we will not give ourselves heart attack over 'USCIS' slow pace.

Exactly we are all too well acquainted with the snail process that uscis processes cases . 😏

All you need is a state id or passport..no one will ask you for gc or extension letter on domestic travel.

I wouldn't count on no one asking. Anyway, as an LPR you are supposed to have your greencard on you (and therefore it makes sense to carry the extension letter with the expired card).

Even if you just drive inside one state you might be asked by Border Patrol to show your papers - think Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, etc. - because they have checkpoints inland. I guess the same in California.

Hi all!

Just wondering if anyone has seen any update about that proposed "public charge" immigration change that was all over the news a few months ago? The one were things like earned income tax credit, and Obamacare subsidies could cause issues with residency and naturalization. My husband and I had decided at that time to hold off on submitting for naturalization because we got earned income tax credit during our first year of marriage (but never again), and no subsidies on ACA because we had employer paid insurance.
The news has been silent on it and there hasn't been any updates.

January 20 our window opens up to apply for naturalization. And now we're wondering should we go ahead and apply because it seems like nothing has been done with that proposal.

Any thoughts? Thank you! And I hope you are all doing wonderful and this process goes smoothly for us all! ❤️

Naturalization Timeline
02/08/2022 - N-400 submitted online

02/09/2022 - status update (your case is being actively reviewed by USCIS)

02/09/2022 - letter received in online inbox - biometrics being reused, no appointment required

08/01/2022 - interview notice received

09/20/2022 - interview scheduled

APPROVED!

09/21/2022 - Oath Ceremony

09/21/2022 - Applied for passport book & card and registered to vote

10/29/2022 - received passport book (not expedited)

11/03/2022 - received passport card

In answer to your question, I do not think that you have any worries. Please review what USCIS has posted on this question, contained in this link.
