Hi everyone, so this is my situation: I field for my 10 year green card renewal on january, I went to visit some relatives out of my state for a month right after that, since I didn't think my  biometric appoinment will come so soon. I got home and I had missed my appoinment by two days, so I went the day after and took my fingerprints and picture, and the immigration officer put a sticker on back of my green card saying it was good up until novemeber. The officer said I should get my card no latter than 6 months...when october came by, I went to the USCIS page and asked what had happened and I barely got a response today, saying Your application is still pending consideration. We anticipate that you will receive a decision or other correspondence within the specified time frame.

Anyone know what this time frame is? is it nornal for them to take this long? My mom and brother renewed their cards 2 years ago and they recieved their cards in the mail 3 months after their biometrics appoinment.

My wife had her biometric appointment in June. Like you, she got the extension sticker but her's was good till June 2018 (a full year from biometrics) and also told it should take no longer than six months. All this time she would constantly check her USCIS account e-mail for updates. In November her e-mails began to arrive addressed to her using her maiden name. Sure enough in December  her new green card arrived with her maiden name on it and also her middle name being misspelled. The only recourse we had was to refile her I-90, send the supporting documentation along with new additional supporting documentation. They sent an update e-mail saying that they can reuse her biometrics. Now we wait. Last time we talked to them they said its like starting from scratch (another six months). Six more months for their mistake. See my other post.
