Nobody is stopping anyone from filing a petition with the federal government.  Let's clear that up first.

If they feel the issue warrants filing a petition, they can do the leg work themselves, just like people did way back in the good ole 1990's.  Expecting the government to provide an electronic petition system, so people don't have to get up from their computers is pure laziness.  If these people really care about an issue they will get out there and find people to sign their paper petition.  Let's see what they do.  I bet they keep sitting at their computers eating sandwiches and crying about Trump.

Definitely!  Besides, this program yielded so many great responses from the last administration.

It is responses and comments like this that just make no sense to me at all.

1.  Why would anyone want to go back to some 1990's way of doing things?  How is that efficient? I guess that's the whole point.  Evidently, people with this line of thinking believe these petitions are frivolous and therefore should not be handled efficiently anyway.

2.  How is using a computer "pure laziness"?  Do you not use computers in your daily life to make you more efficient and get tasks done quicker?  Do you not use computers to correspond, share viewpoints, and get work done?  Does that make you lazy?

3.  What makes you think that people who participate in online petitions are not also "getting out there" and doing something else to advance their voice and position.  I have signed and participated in online petitions.  I have also worked on campaigns to help candidates, who I believe will truly help America, win, voted in every election, gone to rallies and protests, met and work with congressmen, etc.  So do some as my colleagues and friends.

4.  Why is it necessary for rude generalizations?  Do you eat sandwiches at your computer?  Did you cry about Obama or other presidents?  If I voice my viewpoint or opinion and it differs from yours why am I crying??  Not one tear has left my face yet over our current president.

5.  Why is it always all or nothing?  I negotiate contracts.  I am able to research, learn, reason, and see where both sides of the table are coming from.  I know their goal and why they think its best.  Why can't all of us do that?  Are you telling me that trump supporters cannot fathom the issues and concerns of the other side?  Do you really truly believe we are all a bunch of uneducated, incessant whiners with no legitimate platform?

I'm not look for your response jayjayj.  These are just a few of the questions that pop into my mind every time I read these types of comments all over social media.

Well when the government ignores them and doesn’t answer as its been stated, what do you think would happen?

We would be wasting a million or so dollars a year.

I didn’t know there was a time limit to participate in threads. This one just started two days ago.

You posted a comment and I post my viewpoint or observations on that comment.  It’s usially how social media threads work.  People respond and comment back and forth,  similar to conversation.   So when you post a comment it’s for anyone/everyone who may read it. I didn’t think it was to me personally nor did it strike a nerve.  Is that the only time I can respond to participate with my nerves are struck?  Can’t I merely share my observations?

You need to memorize the TOS and be able to recite backwards , while standing on one foot,  to understand .

Maybe others don’t think it’s a waste of money. Maybe they feel

its a way of dialogue and resolution. As if the government doesn’t waste money on

anything else.

Where was the fake outrage when Obama ignored petitions?

That  is different.

Not sure why.

Could anyone mention a petition that was successful? That changed policy?

I’ve violated VJ TOS?

My Bible, should be yours.
