Administrative Processing

Hi all,

 

I had my interview on Nov 28 and was approved.

I was told my passport would be ready in 2 weeks time and to date, still have not received any emails to pickup my passport.

 

The status on CEAC shows Administrative Processing.

I've checked on a daily basis and there's only 2 updates.

They updated the date to Dec 6 and now Dec 11 as "last updated".. however, still under AP.

 

Is this normal? I just want my passport to cross the border to do some shopping.

 

Tomorrow will be exactly 3 weeks

 

I've called the number on the white sheet that says " has your visa been approved" and they weren't much help.

 

Is there anyone I can contact?

 

And the status on ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/iv/infor

Shows "appointment"... Should this not be updated to complete or something??

 

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Are you still in AP?

 

I had an interview on Dec 13th and was approved on the spot (K1 visa). The officer advised my passport would be delivered 1-2 weeks and I was handed the pink piece of paper. A lot of others who interviewed that day already have visas in hand, but I’m on AP. I’ve called the number too (ZERO help).

 

I’m assuming that during the holidays things move a little slower. But I’m beginning to think the worst...

Yes, just checked and still shows AP.

I sent an email few days ago but no reply.

Called the number and no help. 

My interview is the CR1,, I was approved too and was given 2 white paper, one that says welcome to the United States and the other was about how to pickup the Visa.

Ceac Last update date still shows Dec 11

So frustrating…I absolutely get how you're feeling.

 

Any red flags you can think of?? I've got anxiety over thinking I should of disclosed a parking ticket I paid off. But I have my nexus, Canadian gov't clearance, and have no record...

 

I'm going to start emailing next week. I just feel so sad.

I really hope you both get the response very quick of your process, keep us updated ok.

Is frustrating, but you´re almost getting done the process!

Well, I received a reply from them and the contents are below:

 

"Good Morning,

 

Thank you for your inquiry. 

This case is currently under review with a consular officer. As soon as the review is complete, the Visa Unit will advise of the next steps.

 

We realize that these extended time periods cause frustration to many individuals, and we are sensitive to the fact that the purpose of the immigrant visa program is to facilitate legitimate travel to the U.S.  Nonetheless, the Consulate in Montreal, like all U.S. Embassies and Consulates, must adjudicate visas in accordance with the provisions of the law, and, in some cases, this involves extensive consular review and administrative processing.  While we cannot predict when the processing of your visa will be completed, please be assured that the Consulate and the State Department are aware of your concerns and will contact you as soon as the processing is complete.

 

We hope that this information is helpful in replying to your inquiry.

Not much to do but to wait. I was eager to get my passport back to do some cross border shopping for last minute gifts, but that's not going to happen. So... back to waiting!

 

I assume the reply you'll receive after sending them an email will be the same as the content I  pasted above.

 

Holidays are near so cheer up, relax don't worry to much!

Congrats! great news before the new year

 

Unfortunately, mine is still AP... no updates.

 

Now I wonder what's going on  hope the reason is that they're backed up due to holiday.. SIGHH...
