How to know if your case gets the approval and how do they notify you

Hey everybody 😊

I want to ask  how do you know if your case has been accepted. I have applied for the I-130 form(green card holder ) and my priority date is 14 January 2017 and still no approval. I have heard that they notify you by email and mail too. The problem is that i don't know how the email thing works ,where to register ,where to contact them. Thank you in advance

There are people here with more knowledge than me, but I remember there was a form for e-notification, to fill out with the i130, and file together. Perhaps there is a way of creating a username at USCIS, so they let you know in case you did not fill the form.

 

However, you can always check your case status at https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

 

You only need your Receipt Number to look it up. If you don't know which one it is, look for the Notice of Action they sent you via physical mail when you filed the i-130.
