What's the issue with the sputum test? Does it take a super long time or something ?

Hey, I know a lady from Indonesia that experienced same thing like your girl. she diagnosed with sputum and she had to do 3 months treatment. she took the letter from the doc to embassy and they will freeze the petition and once she is done with the treatment the doc gonna give the med letter saying all is good .

you guys have to wait until the treatment done but I think it is better wait another 3 months than wait another year.

this is only my opinion doesn't want to mix into your decision :)

Good luck

I don't really understand your post. Are you planning on living in the Philippines now? If your fiance/wife will ever come to America she will still need to go through the sputum test as it's required for spouse visa too.

If you are planning on living there best of luck to you. I plan to move there in around 7 years.

Well as it turns out she turned up positive for TB we just found out she has 6 months of meds, now i wonder how long k1 is good for before it expires since this is on hold.

Did you get approved? I hope so you deserve it.

I’m so sorry to hear that. Hang in there. You will still be together. Look on the bright side, she is getting treated and the TB will be gone. Her health is important. I’m sure that the K-1 will still be good. Sputum tests are somewhat common so there is a lot of experience with that on VJ. Everything will be fine.

Still waiting on our end. Day 227.

I am so sorry you would have to wait longer.  It can be 6 months up to 1 year or sometimes more.  I had to go through this and thus my screen name :). Inform the embassy about this and keep them updated every three months or so, so they dont accidentally close your case.  They are supposed to keep it open even if this process takes longer than anticipated.  If you two have been in a physical relationship prior to her diagnosis than you would need to get your TB screening done as well.  In here, the US, a blood test can give you answers in about 3-5 days.  Once the meds start, the chance of contracting TB goes way down, almost nil, but be cautious and good luck.

07/27/17 - K1 packet sent at the end of day.

07/31/17 - NOA1

03/22/18 - NOA2

08/28/18 - expected date for medical completion - Sputum test was needed

09/22/18 - anticipated interview date
