Hello everybody

i have a question and i need help asap. My wife is my sponsor. By the time we applied for my adjustment of status she was still working and met all the requirement to be my sponsor. Now i have my Ead and SSN working normally. She lately lost her and is collecting unemployment. I have my interview coming up. I dont know what to do. She got some money on her saving. Can we resort to that with the employment she s collecting to meet the requirements.

Thanks

i need your help. I m so overwhelmed

Thank you for the response.

How much must be the assets ?

The assets must be 5X the poverty level.  For example if the 125% of poverty level $10.000 then her assets must be $50.000 or more. however you can also contribute to the household income now that you have EAD and are working.  Between her unemployment and your wages, you might be able to swing it. Search about using intending immigrants income for i-864.

Thanks so ever. Your answer was really helpful. I ll try that. Since when we applied she was still working but now she s not. And she got an offer from a company. She ll start in may. So i ll take myself an intending immigrant, bring her saving and offer. Hope it ll work. That is fine you think ?

No i don't think that will work. Income must be current - not past/future. If between what she gets in unemployment and what you earn you are above the poverty line then just complete a new i-864 adding you as a member of the household. You will also need a letter from your employer saying you will still be employed by them even after you get the green card.
