Background

- Filed I30 and I485 concurrently for my parents this late August.

- Fingerprints were collected in September.

- Advance Parole documents were received in November which was prior to the date the I94 got expired.

- My parents are not from the countries affected by the travel ban.

Status tracking:

- There haven't been any updates on USCIS's case status page since the status had been changed to 'we accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status. Our National Benefits Center location is working on your case'

- We have not received any 130 or 485 approvals yet while we do have the receipts.

My questions:

(1) Are my parents considered in AOS status? Some told me they are not because they haven't got the approval for 130 yet.

(2) Can my parents travel outside of the US on their AP after their I94 expired? If they technically can, how risky is it? Thank you all very much in advance!
