Mexico police certificate

I went to my CR1 visa interview and did not get it because I donot have original police certificate from Mexico. I lived there 17 years ago. Now I donot know anyone there or understand any Spanish. According to state.gov website, I need to go there do it myself or authority a family member present me. I can not do it myself because I donot understand Spanish and donot know the city. I also donot have anyone there to present me. I contacted Mexico consulate in Canada and they can not help me too. Anyone here can give me some suggestions how to get police certificate without me go there?

This might be a little pricey, but you can try hiring an immigration attorney (specifically one fluent in Spanish or even one who specializes in Mexican laws/policies) to help you.

The instructions on the NVC website say:

 

Police certificates are required for applicants 16 years of age and older.  However, in Mexico police certificates are only available for applicants 18 and over.  Immigrant visa applicants who have resided in Mexico for six months or more since the age of 18 are required to provide a police certificate.  The state police (Fiscalía General del Estado) of each state in Mexico can provide a police record (Carta or Certificado de No Antecedentes Penales).  The process and the cost of obtaining these records vary by state.  Contact the state police for instructions. 

 

 

 

So, google the state police for the state in Mexico where you lived. I'm sure they have a website with an email address or phone number. You may need to use the services of a translator or interpreter in order to get this done.

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

I can't find the thread but try asking in the Mexico and Latin American forum. There was someone on there recently who found a service that buys it and ships it for you. It was pricey, maybe 200-300 but if I remember correctly it worked out really well.

DCF Mexico

06/04/2017: Married

06/24/2017: Mailed I-130

06/27/2017: NOA1 (technically a RFE as we were missing beneficiary ID)

07/06/2017: NOA2

07/12/2017: Case assigned by Juarez embassy

07/17/2017: Packet 3 received

08/15/2017: Interview/Approval!

08/22/2017: Visa received via DHL

09/03/2017: POE

09/16/2017: Permanent Resident Card received

 

Total days from NOA1 to approval: 49
