I am still going over everything carefully in preparation for sending to the NVC, but I feel uncertain about which I-864 form to use.  I have completed and printed the  I-864, but should I be using the I-864EZ?   I am sponsoring my alien spouse and using my sole income from my employment as the basis for financial proof (no assets or joint sponsor).  Could someone put my mind at ease about which form I should be using?

You can use I-864EZ if you are using your sole income and sponsoring just your wife (no children being brought with her).

I provided the I-864EZ and had the same criteria as you.  I filled everything out perfectly and met the full criteria as specified in the instructions.  But for some unknown reason, they wanted an I-864 from me.  Didn't want to argue about the RFE with them so I submitted I-864.  Suggest you just use the I-864.

Although i had ability to file I-864EZ, still i have filled I-864 because everyone (i knew ) who went through this process used and recommended i-864

Since every person requires a separate petition, so even if you were sponsoring step-children, you could use the I-864ez.  I suggest using it if you aren't using assets.  It's much shorter and simpler to fill out.  We used it.

Just because they did or had to doesn't mean that you should or have to.  If you have the ability to use a shortened form, I have no idea why you wouldn't.  After all you're not including the information otherwise so why bother writing n/a or none?

As gregcrs2  have already mentioned, he got a check list for I-864 ,although he  was qualified for I-864EZ.I am not saying that i am against I-864EZ. Idea behind my suggestion is if some additional pages can gave him  more peace of mind, then why not.
