Good Morning :jest:

Question? I married last year in Cuba and the same day we got married I was given a marriage certification that I had used ( a copy of it ) to submitted our I-130 application. One month later my husband was given the same marriage certification however this one was legalized with the seals/ stamps from Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be use abroad. My question is, for his interview or any future info they (USCIS or NVC ) ask for should I send the same Marriage Certificate copy that I had submitted for the I-130 or should I use the one that have all the stamps and seals added on the back of it.  Thank you so much for your help.

Why not just take both of them?

I always feel that when in doubt between two things, take both.

They are exactly the same no differences at all ( not difference on dates or signatures ) just the seals and stamps saying it was legalized to be used abroad. The reason of getting the second is for the delay it took to be legalized.

Yes, I understand that. I know how it works. However, the legalized one is more valid than the one without the legal stamps. However, since you filed using the previous one, once your interview comes up, I suggest taking both. The one without stamps to show it is the one you used and the one WITH in case it is needed.

Well you said you sent the one without stamps already to USCIS. So I imagine you translated that one already. I hope.

The other one, yes. Do translate

My advise, I have to do the exactly same thing...

Use the one who was stamped by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I dothe same thigthat you do, and is the same Marriage Certificate because my marriage was also in Cuba!

For the Interview, no translation is needed, but for USCIS translation is needed.

Just , forthe interview, make a copy of the stamped one and use it for NVC and interview stage (remember that original one has to be SHOWN) they keep the copy!

But is the same, the only thing who changes is the stamp in the back of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as you well said, we both have to do the same things...

One question, when your husband is going to request his policy record in Cuba?

It takesone month to deliver it and is only valid for 6 months, that´s the thing who drives me crazy!

My family has to send it tome thru DHL to hereto Bogota....

Hi Jhonny I go to Cuba every month if you want I can bring you the paper you need over here and give them to your wife. Let me know if you want to do that and I will send you my personal email and then we can communicate through it to set up what is the best way to get it done. I am flying to Cuba on December 30 and coming back on the 5th. By the way,  yes the police record is valid for 6 months ( after the date they were given or expedite ). I recently asked my husband to get it done bc his are expired also.Thank you.
