Because they need the passport to put the visa in.  So did you ask your fiance if they kept the passport or handed it back at the time of the interview?

I was with him at the interview they took his passport told us 2 wait 10 days

They won't generally keep the passport if what ever the issue is will take a long time to resolve

If we was denied they would of not taken the passport that's why I said we were approved & gave us a paper where it says approved...so trying 2 find out how much longer this process will take but I don't seem to get that answer lol

The Embassy site says most within 60 days. The problem is that it is an individual situation dependent.  So no one can predict with any certainty

YMMV

The visa isn't approved and issued until they actually stamp the K1 visa in the passport. The expiration would be six months from when they place the visa in the passport. I think the Lawyer is confused ??

I think this AP is different, before visa is stamped in the passport, there is a short AP time for everyone. If they said that you're approved, just wait couple of days. I think it will be changed to "issued".

You need to have a little patience in this process.

I most def understand that it is like a never ending situation like 11 months was not long enough but unfortunately cant control anything so the waiting game continues

Yeah, you're good. It's standard procedure for the beneficiary to essentially "pass" the interview, at which point they take the passport, put the application status as "Administrative Processing" and then take 1 or more weeks to officially approve the visa with it's insertion into the passport.

Our AP length was 7 weeks but that was due to a system wide visa printing malfunction that took 5 weeks to repair, during which time everyone's visas were delayed.

Marriage: 2014-02-23 - Colombia    ROC interview/completed: 2018-08-16 - Albuquerque
CR1 started : 2014-06-06           N400 started: 2018-04-24
CR1 completed/POE : 2015-07-13     N400 interview: 2018-08-16 - Albuquerque
ROC started : 2017-04-14 CSC     Oath ceremony: 2018-09-24 – Santa Fe

Hello everyone

Would like some input.. We had our interview Nov 27th & got approved been waiting ever since then for the passport. On CEAC our status updated yesterday from APPLICATION RECIEVED  to ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING very worried bc from what I researched it may take up to 60 days well we don't have that bc our visa expires next month...What I don't understand is if they approved the visa what is the hold up???? Very annoyed & confused <_<<_<<_<

Unfortunately everyone is so different but I got my visa around 3-5 days after interview if that ! It was fast ! (Canada)

I wouldn't listen to your attorney about the noa2 date.

Unfortunately, just because they tell you "approved" on the actual interview doesn't mean the visa is actually approved. I have read several stories on VJ where people were told they were approved at the interview but then the status changed to "refused" a few weeks later.

Only assume that the visa is actually approved once the status changes to "issued".

AP can last for hours, days, weeks and even months before they make a decision. Some wait even longer than that.

The date on the NOA2 is the date for the i-129f petition, not for the K-1 visa (which hasn't been approved yet). Fire your lawyer.

K-1: 12-22-2015 - 09-07-2016

AP: 12-20-2016 - 04-07-2017

EAD: 01-18-2017 - 05-30-2017

AOS: 12-20-2016 - 07-26-2017

ROC: 04-22-2019 - 04-22-2020
Naturalization: 05-01-2020 - 03-16-2021

U.S. passport: 03-30-2021 - 05-08-2021
