If you live in DMV area, had an interview at USCIS Fairfax office and waiting for your Oath schedule, lets wait together and share the timeline here.

My interview: 28 Nov. The officer said the earliest oath ceremony will be held in late January next year. How about your case?

Where do northern Virginia residents take the oath?

I believe DC residents take it at the DC District Court, which has naturalization ceremonies on the second Tuesday of each month, as posted here.

It went very well and I'm now an American citizen.  I arrived at about 20 minutes before the time on the oath notice, 12pm,  there was a big crowd outside and seemingly some people had already been let in but it was too big a crowd son they closed the doors.  Just before 12pm they opened the doors again to applicants and we filed into the auditorium and were assigned seats at the front of the auditorium.  Family and friends went in a different door and were assigned seats further back.  There were 400 people becoming new citizens so it was a pretty big crowd.  We waited until everybody was seated, maybe 20/30 minutes, nothing much happening during this time except some instructional announcements from USCIS staff and voter registration forms handed out.  Then we all had to exit the auditorium to the hallway where there were 9 lines of USCIS staff waiting to check us in, they gave us an envelope with various materials, US flag, words for oaths and National Anthem etc. Then we went back into the auditorium, this process took along time, maybe 45 mins or an hour.  We had a 10 minute break and then the actual ceremony began, that was pretty short.  There were two USCIS officials who spoke and the Mayor of Fairfax City, we had the Oath and pledge of Allegiance, National Anthem and some generic videos on big screen, including one from the president, there was also the country call.  It was all over at about 2pm.  Then we had to head back to the hallway to collect our certificates, I was done pretty quickly but others it may have been 15 or 20 minutes.

I hope you get your notice soon & good luck, its an enjoyable day.  My only advice is to get there early as you will get a seat towards the front and that helps in speeding up collecting your cert at the end too.

My interview was on Nov 28 and I'm waiting for the physical letter just like you. I'm wondering how do you know your oath ceremony will be on 01/20 at Oakton High School? You haven't received the letter yet right?

I checked my case status online, it just says that they mailed the notice. There is no schedule / date / time / location on USCIS website. Could you please let me me know how to get those information without the physical letter?

I received a status update notification saying that my oath was scheduled last week, yet the PDF version of the letter became available online (ELIS) just today.

I guess there's a bit of glitch/delay within the online status update - it took me 6 days for the PDF to become available for me. It should soon be available for you too!
