hey guys got a very quick question here, but ive read all kinda different things so i really need some clarity, i would greatly appreciate it

my current (2 year) green card expires on the 18th of March, 2018....so technically today, december 14th, its still more than 90 days until it expires, but i mightnot be able tofile until the end of december because of financial reasons, thats just when i get paid....would i still be good to send it off/file at the end of this month?! so they would receive it when it'd be less than 90 days before my GC expires, is that stil okay??? really need to know thank you

Yes, it is OK.

so it wont be too late? cuz numerous websites seemed to have confused me about it...always thought it had be before that 90 days....but it is within that 90 days? so if it expires march 18th,2018, can i still file beginning of january? (not trying to push it cause i do want to send it in asap but with christmas, its hard to put that 700 together)

"If you are filing jointly, the I-751 form must be filed within the 90 days just preceding the expiration date on your permanent residence card."

wow are u serious?! thats what that means?! dang lol soi was stressing for nothing?!

Yup. Although I wouldn't suggest waiting until the last minute either...having to refile late if it is rejected, having no proof of current LPR status, etc. is annoying (since it takes like a month to get the extension letter!).

Yeah you will be fine :) I'm doing the same thing. I can send in mine on the 19th but we're travelling to see family on the 20th so we will just wait until we get home. That way we can build a solid application without feeling stressed, or rather more stressed than we already are during the holidays :P  Good luck! :)

The 90 days is a window to file not a deadline to file.  You could wait all the way up to March 17, 2018 if you wanted

YMMV
