We were.  We filed for AOS from B2. Filed Feb. 27. Interview was Sept.27 and we were given verbal approval. The approval letter arrived the next week. But, the actual green card arrived 2 months after the interview date.  That happened with our EAD too; got it 2 months after the approval letter. Very odd and no explanation was given.  The interviewing officer assured us that it would not happen again with the green card, but it did.

Thank you so much for responding to this!! I'm so glad I've found another San Fernando Valley filer...the ones I  found here were through search and were a couple of years old so it's really cool seeing how the process at the office has been lately! So the interview was okay? Was it a busy day when you guys went there?

Our interview time was really early, 7:30 a.m. if I remember correctly.  Parking is in a structure across the street from the building.  We went inside and security directed us to the security check (airport style). There was a different line with people waiting to get in but we didn't have to wait in that-just went straight to security.  The guard at the front will check your letter and direct you where to go. Then we went in a big waiting room, put our letter in the designated box, and sat down. We had to wait maybe half an hour. The officer called us back by name.  The interview was nothing special. He just had us confirm our address and looked over the file a little.  He did ask, "So, why now?"  as in why did we file for the green card now. I guess there aren't too many like us who have been married for 8 years and have 3 kids.  Then he talked about how long the green card would be valid, when to expect it, and when my husband can file for citizenship.  He didn't say "congratulations, you are approved" or anything like that. After he finished talking I said "So I assume this means he is approved then", and he said yes.  Overall it was a quick and easy process, which was great and yet strange considering how long we had to wait to get to that point.
