I honestly was expecting a notice next month going on the recent data on this thread, but i am not complaining! 😂

Hopefully it stays at 11-12 months for you, or even gets quicker for everyone waiting!!

We struck out at the DVS in Minneapolis. They asked  my wife for her social security card which is in her maiden name. (Her I-94 is expired and they asked if we had married and my wife said yes; my wife handed her our marriage certificate.) The woman told my wife she needs to change her name with SSA prior to applying for a permit or ID. My wife explained that we tried to do that but she just shrugged and said we need to work that out with DHS or SSA. Ugh.

I think if we had done this at least 14 days before the I-94 expired and just applied in her maiden name with her passport, unexpired I-94 and SS card in her maiden name (and not mentioned we were married) we would have been ok. Though someone else mentioned needing proof of residence which would mean mail in her maiden name at our address which she doesn't have. Just in her married name.

If anyone has any other info or ideas on how we can get her permit, let me know.

Dang, we have the same interview date! Good luck to you.

You will not need a new medical if the civil surgeon signed on it within 60 days of you sending the I-485.

A quick Update.

I have been approved for AOS. Had an easy interview at St.Paul/Minnesota.

Basic questions were asked but i got stuck into weird questions which were ' My social Security number'  and 'the place/hospital that my wife was born'.

Other than that i was treated with respect and professionalism.

Interview was on 5th June 2019 , case was sent to be reviewed , the next day i got an update that case was approved.

AOS DATE FILED : 28 April 2018

Interview date : 5 June 2019

Case approved : 6 June 2019
