Did you ever hear back? The same thing just happened to me. Exactly 1 year later I got a status update that my interview has been scheduled. I just got a text message and online change, no notice via snail mail just yet. Is this some kinda auto thing they're doing or does this really mean something?

Anyone else can chime in how long you had to wait from the time you saw the online notice till you actually received the paper notice? How far out was the interview date from receiving the paper notice?

Hard to get excited about any of this knowing how tricky the whole process is.

Our notice came in the mail exactly 1 week after the notification. The interview date is 5 weeks from the notification, 4 weeks from when we received the letter. So pretty much 13 months from submission to interview for us. When we filed I believe the USCIS official processing time was 15-26 months.

You can also call USCIS and I believe they will tell you the date/time. If you have been waiting for more than 2 weeks I would definitely call so you don't end up missing the interview.

Wow, that's really encouraging. Thanks so much for sharing your experience. For the first time since application, I have some optimism (knock on wood). So if approved, would you get a temporary green card for another 2 years or would they count the time you've already been married for (I know I am getting a little greedy but still have to at least ask).

This might sound lazy but I did look around. Where did you call to get your interview date? I tried the customer service number but they only repeat whatever's online.

I would call the main number and explain the situation. How long has it been since the notification? For something like this they should transfer you to a tier 2 service rep. Or you can also ask to talk to a tier 2 rep. You'll probably get more replies if you post this question in another subforum.

It's been only a day. So I should really hold on I think.

The interview notice comes from the NBC. It generally takes about a week because they mail it via First Class mail. That is the slowest. I would just start preparing your evidence for your interview. All the best!

Thanks so much! Looking forward to it. There is hopefully light at the end of the tunnel. Another question I have is, if you dont have your original birth certificate, is that a big deal? I can give the interview guy a printout as well as URL to a government website (In India) that gives them the proof of birth.

This wasn't from Mpls so take with a grain of salt, but we received our letter about a week(?) after the online notice.  Our interview date was about a month after we got the letter.

Also, they never asked for any birth certificates, so I wouldn't worry about that :)

Waiting for Monday to see if my notice is in the mail. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Do not forget that every case is different. If your letter says that they want to see your original birth certificate or a certified copy, then make sure you have one.

Hello people! Newbie in this forum: kept looking for people in MN who were going thru AoS process and thought that there’s no one and formed an own forum for MN AoS dec 2018 filers. But I’ll be here I guess.

im dec 2018 filer for AoS and my combo card was just mailed today. Based off of reading people’s comments, I’m assuming I won’t hear about our scheduled interview until dec 2019 or Jan 2020?? Is the medical going to be valid until then. I got mine for k-1 process in my home country in May 2018??

Yeah unless a miracle happens. Of course, We had to be in MN for this AoS process. Many of the Dec 2018 filers from NY, Baltimore and FL already have their interview scheduled.

Hi

Im nov 2018 filer and still haven't got my combo card yet.

I actually got the approval notice by mail on April 9th and uscis status has not changed since April 5th. It still says "Case was approved".

How long did it take for you to get the actual combo card after getting the approval letter?

Thank you!

Mine was approved on April 9th and I got approval notice in mail on the 13th and just today they updated the status to card being mailed so hopefully by Saturday (20th) or Monday (22nd) it should be here.  I never saw an approved status online but also I didn’t see an update for two days last week until seeing the card production update.

Yours should be there soon. Everyone’s online update is funky. I have no updates whatsoever on my uscis account, no texts or email. Keep hanging!
