Hi guys,

i just want to share my interview today. When my husband and I started the interview, there were two guys in the room one is Uscis agent and another one is training staff. The training guy asked a lot about background information in form I-130 and I-485. It took more than half an hour, then the agent just asked to see our photo and evidence that can support our relationship. Then, the training guy took several papers and wrote about our relationship such as when did we 1st meet, where did we go or travel, when we married. After that, he told that our case has approved but he couldn’t make a decision yet. Because he is training right now and he has to spend time to review my case today. The agent guy talked to us about our case. He said that they have approved my case and I will receive my GC in 2-3 weeks, but he want the training guy gets more experience from our case. Therefore, nothing is wrong with my case, just waiting. My case just changes that interview was completed, but it must be reviewed

It's not uber promising but it looks like they have at least started with 2018 filers. By the way, I understand that you filed your I-130 first in 08-2017 and then the I-485 in 12-2018. In that case, the I-485 leads the way, and your PD is 12-2018. You have a good year ahead of you. I would start applying for jobs and request to expedite your I-765/II-131.

All the best,

Hi, it’s taking 4-6 months according to the USCIS website. My field office is MN as well. But I don’t think EAD/AP processing is tied to field office. I filed 8/31/18, fingerprints 10/03/18, still no EAD or AP it’s been about 4.5months. Add about 5mnths to your PD to estimate and if it comes earlier celebrate :) , good luck.

Ohh wow!! Have you gotten any updates so far on your EAD? If you get yours within 5 months then I’ll believe 5 months is possible for me as well. At the moment I’ve deleted the case tracker app to curb my anxiety and won’t doenload it again until March.

Hi, I finally got status update on 2/1/19 for EAD. says “new card is being produced”  but AP still says case received. This is on e.gov site, on my USCIS site no updates since case received.

I’ll update my timeline once I have card in hand.

I know constantly checking the app can be stressful. But I liked he forums because it gives a sense of support / comraderie with others undergoing same thing as me at the same time.

I really hope that’s the case. I really want to see my family for Christmas and would much prefer to travel on my green card than AP. I’m just scared because I’ve overstayed.

I hope you can visit your family.  I can’t wait for the AP- I’m still in school so don’t really need the EAD part, but one of my best friends is getting married this coming weekend in Jamaica and I’m sad to miss it and I don’t want to miss anymore things!

Anyway, I’m not sure what will happen with previous overstay, check others experiences on the AP forum it might be helpful.

Awww I’m so happy for you! Where did you see new card is being produced? On the USCIS website or case tracker? That’s literally 4 months for you!! I’m hoping that’s the same for me too! My PD is October 15, 2018. Gosh!! You just gave me hope! Lol. Yes! This forum is way better than ***removed***. Didn’t really like that one.

I’m Jamaican! That’s where I want to go for Christmas!! Gosh that’s such a bummer that you’re missing it. Hopefully you won’t miss anything else!! Please keep me up to date!

Hi all. Minnesota filer here. Getting ready to send my AOS package at the end of the week. I'm worried about the biometrics scheduling as I will be traveling out of state March 5-13. How long does it usually take between NOA and the biometric scheduled date? With my luck, it will fall right in that timeframe. I've heard the MN office does not accept early walk-ins? What are people's experiences? (mostly curious, if my PD is say 2/13...when should I expect the biometrics to fall on?)

Welcome to the thread! There is also a facebook group - Minnesota AOS Filers, by the way.

To answer your question - We did a walk-in at the ASC (Application Support Center) in Saint Paul, and had no issues. Look at my signature below which lists our timeline.  In a nutshell:

03/16/2018 - Priority Date

04/06/2018 - Received Biometrics Appt Notice for 04/18/2018

04/12/2018 - Biometrics early walk-in.

I know that you can do an early walk-in; however, I am not sure if you can do a walk-in past your appointment date. If I had to guess, I would think that it is fine to do so. I have seen people successfully do that and I have also seen others reschedule their Biometrics appointment. Your call.

Thanks! I will hope they let me do it early. Your timeline is helpful, I know that AOS in Minnesota can take a long time. Did you not apply for EAD? I don't see that in your signature.

Yes, it can take up to two years. Remember that the MSP Field Office serves Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota & Western Wisconsin. So that's a lot.

My spouse did apply for the combo card and it was approved within 137 days - on 07-31-18. I updated the timeline but did not update my signature. Sorry! 🙂
